Inq or Temp...who as more DPS, melee and ranged?

<p>Hi, I am trying to help my wife figure out between a Templar or Inquisitor.  I understand that inquisitors can do more melee DPS than a templar but can a Templar do more spell damage than an inquisitor?</p><p>Also, if you go the melee route, do you do more damage or can you achieve greater damage with ranged spells?</p>

<p>Depends a little on your usual group makeup gear etc.  but generally:</p><p>inquisitors do more dps all around than the templar (gap is smaller now imo)</p><p>With tso aa (flurry) and rok/tso gear melee has a clear advantage over 'spell' spec's.   However, to maximize don't ignore one or the other.</p><p>With aa spec's and a few peices of gear (mostly heroic) I can get 125% DA (usually only run 100%ish), 100% melee crits, 35% dps, 68% haste and 62% spell crit.  Can hit 6k on trash in VP and SOH with little effort.   (with dirge, coercer in MT group).   Hitting 4-5 k on the easier tso instances.. with 2-2.5k zw parses (i do have to heal occasionally <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" />)</p><p>I've started to collect more +spell and spell crit gear as a result to even it out.  </p><p>The biggest disadvantage and annoyance for me is the lack of STR on conservative healer gear.  My INT is usually 150-200 higher than my STR <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" /></p><p> Soo... always melee and always nuke imo.  </p>

<p>I have to agree with Enoa here (we are in the same guild)</p><p>Im the Inq in the scout group that he tends to beet more offen then not (when he is in his pure dps spec), but he does have ALOT more experiance playing a cleric than me (I recently got mine up for raiding needs).</p><p>sometimes he has me thinking of swaping to be a better healer and about the same dps wise, but my group would stand to loose nice dps buffs, and I know with some more gear and a bit more practice I should be the victor more offen. /shakes fist</p><p>-Eb</p>
