<p>Here's a new, sad realization I just came across. In the constant battle to improve my dps, I adorned my shiny new Captain's Mouldering Flesh Cord with a fabled Smoldering Combative Fastening (+30 Combat Art Damage). Before adorning, Draining Incursion hit for 744-1,241. With the adornment, DI hits for... 744-1,241?</p><p>Upon seeing this, I hoped it was a graphical bug. Alas, my Damage Amount under Melee Stats did increase from 465 to 495. It dawns on me that this is a cap issue...</p><p>As I understand it, +CA damage is limited to 50% boost over base damage. As such, more +CA damage only helps my highest hitting Combat Arts. Examining Bright Blade, damage does go from 1,264-1,870 to 1,264-1899.</p><p>When thinking about this relative to other scouts, their CAs hit for much higher damage... therefore they get the full benefit of +CA damage. While a troub has to get a +spell fabled hand adorn and a +CA fabled wrist adornment to get less benefit?</p><p>Even between troubs, the wrist adornment only really helps if you have empowered essence shoulders + mythical + Lyrical Mastery + choker + etc. so that your base damage is high enough for the CA cap to be irrelevent?</p><p>If I am thinking about this right, that seems whack.</p><p>=/</p><p>Aelder</p>

You're post seemed to imply that Troub's got the nerf stick on +CA. We're not t1 DPS, so our spells/CA's wasn't designed to produce maximum DPS although we do a pretty good job. With TSO my +CA/SD/STR has dropped quite a bit but I still run ~500 CA and ~400 SD. Wearing MW shoulders you loose alot of CA/SD over VP gear but you gain 8% base. </p><p>I don't think SoE intended for Bards to be doing 10k+ routinely, if that was the case why bring ___ (fill in with your favorite DPS class), just bring another bard and increase everyone's DPS. I can see the new raid makeup now, 8 bards, 4 SK's, 4 chanters, 1 war/wiz/assa (depending on raid zone), 1 brig, 6 or 7 healers. Drop the war/wiz/assa for the extra healer when needed <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.</p><p>Now that's whacked!</p>
