Ok. I either die in 3 seconds, or in the rare occasion I start winning, they run, yet I have no snares etc. How do you monks deal with kiters, or runners in pvp? There a tink item I could use that snares? It's so bad that I don't even try to pvp anymore really, just put up a fight when attacked, since I can't run away or evac anyway. Some how players are always faster than me in combat so I can't catch them, but they can catch me.

I don't PvP, but wouldn't Mantis Leap (Brawler Stamina line end AA) be useful in this situation? In theory you leap, then Stun, then knockdown and pile on the pain. Hopefully since you were already winning this will finish them off, if not, you're ready for another leap in 45 seconds, so just suppress the urge to follow and run the opposite direction if they take off. You'll be right back beside them when Mantis Leap recycles for you. Again I don't PvP, so this is just an idea.

I play on naggy, freep side, 66 monk, I had this same problem when i followed everyone's advice and go down the int, str line, i instead went down the int, agi line for the mantis leap, its so great watching a caster root me at a distance and start to nuke, the surprise they have to have when im standing right next to them, just make sure not to follow up with a kd or stifle, use your highest dmg attack, jab is what i use, 100% crit chance after mantis leap, usually have most classes dead before I have to wait for any reuse timers, those classes with the Knock back this is very usefull as well, the reuse timer is short enough to live through most fights and pop back in there, only problem is the reuse timer on our heal, I dont use any potions etc, so when i pop my heal that is it, and when you get the main skill at bottom of int line, the below 30% health, that is when i pop my calm, and tsunami so i get the most effect out of it. You prolly know all this figuring your 80, but just thought i would give my input for any other monks having this problem. I did untill I looked at my aa's and chose the ones I thought would be most effective and not what everyone was telling me.

I had that teleport skill for awhile, decided to respec. But yeh, I guess it would help. I'm specced str full, int to the crit, then the rest in agi, for the quicker refresh rate on CAs. The sta line seemed lacking and the teleport skill wasn't as useful as I hoped. You still have to be fairly close to the opponent etc. Was bummed about that.

Is there a npc that allows you to buy those smoke vials? I have 5 from a quest and been saving them for special cases where I might be stuck with a lot of money on my character and see a bunch of enemy players. Was wondering if they can be bought. Anyone know?

I farmed FG till I got this in the lower tiers http://www.lootdb.com/eq2/item/1584815841. This is the only snare that is an instant cast. It isnt much but it works pretty well for me. What I do is if they are running away I equip this (BTW put it on your hotbar and then you main wpn as well) it casts, if it doesnt get resisted, then they are snared and then I sprint to them cause I'm specced to sprint faster, then its ownage time. Works well for me.
