I had a crash of the game about a week ago. When I was zoning, I was dropped to character select, where I was only given the option to load 4 of my 7 characters. When I tried to log in one of those 4, the game crashed to desktop.

When I restarted the game, the launch window only listed those same 4 characters, and has ever since. I've logged in and out of the game several times, and the launch window hasn't repopulated with all of my characters.

It's not a huge issue, as the characters can be accessed once the game is running via /camp <charname>, but it is annoying, as my main raiding character is one of the missing 3.

Any ideas about how to get this fixed?

Greetings,

It sounds like your stationname_characters.ini is not updating correctly. I would suggest opening the Everquest 2 directory, deleting the stationname_characters.ini, and running the game to let it update. The list will not update until you log into the game and log back out, but that should resolve the issue.

The 'stationname' section of the name should be your own station name. So, if your station name was danielh then the file name would be danielh_characters.ini.

I am having the same problem. I left eq2 about 5 months ago, came back, it shows on the launcher that I have the character still, I can view him when I click "click here for character list", but when I log into game, all it will let me do is make a new toon. Where is this file you speak of? I cannot find it, I did find one that had a .eu at the end not .ini. So I deleted it and still doesnt work. Thanks in advance!

Mine are within My Eq2 folder...

They are Station name_characters

That is all it is. So if my station name is Elorah (which it is not) Then it would be listed under Elorah_characters

ah ic. I cant find that anywhere. Just now when I went to create a new toon, at the end when I was to choose my server all it gave me options for was the EU servers. Any ideas? I downloaded the trial instead of the "returning eq2" option cause it wasnt working at the time.

Ahhh are you located in the EU? It sounds like it may have downloaded the EU server patch...

Also, are you signing in with the trial account? or your old one? The trial account will have no characters, until you make them....

EverQuest II - Trial of the Isle: cannot select non-US region

It says that once you do as it suggests, you shoudl be able to get the sropdown to select other Regions... This may mean more of a download though (just to warn you)

im located in the US. I logged in with my old account, it shows my character on the launch deal but when I hit "play" it just gives me the EU sever options and no character. Ill try a re download . Thanks for the help! Well played master.

If it only shows Runnyeye and Splitpaw, then I would say that you got a hold of the EU client....

You will not need to redownload the game completely. You should be able to correct this option by changing the region through the launchpad you already have.

Start the launchpad and stop at the screen that displays the EULA. In the upper right corner of the screen there will be a drop box that says "Region Select" and it is probably set to "English - EU" at the moment. You will want to select "English - US". That should allow you to access all of the US servers.

Grrr. Spent all day dlin the stuff I was told to, and at the end after it said "download complete" it froze, wouldnt go red and say "play' so I exited, and restarted. Launched game and still the same [Removed for Content] thing. All EU servers. So now I decided to delete all eq2 content. Starting from scratch, made sure it said eq2-us and now im re downloading. Mayb Ill catch yall tomorrow...

Wait, now its saying "eq2 images could not be loaded" when trying to launch the launcher. Could someone post up the exact link to where I need to go to download exactly what I need? USA eq2

BTW everytime I go to the eq2 site and try to dl the trial instead of the "returning player option" it says its the EU version. And I dont dl the "returning player" download cause it always gives me the images couldnt load crap.

Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"5. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.6. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.7. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".8. Right click on the icon and select "Run as Administrator"
