I posted an issue about 6 weeks ago regarding the game loading (with certain characters), hanging up during the 'loading ui' portion of the load, then, in the game, I can run around for a few minutes (without being able to interact with anything). Then the game kicks me out. This is on a fresh install of my OS, and a fresh install of EQ2. Here is the new UI log.

Couldn't load .xmlEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tags

Same problem I had before. Now, I don't expect any help with this, as none of the 'support staff' seemed interested before, but seeings how I resubscribed (mostly because I'm stupid), I'm going to give getting some help one more try.

What I don't get is how this problem could be on my end, as again, it's a fresh OS install and a fresh EQ2 install. It has to be server side. I'd appreciate some help here....

Forgot to mention that this all started the day of the 'marketplace' patch. Game ran fine before that.

Have a nice day.

Sorry, the original thread must have slipped by me somehow.

This looks like a UI issue. Do you use a custom user interface with the game? If so, you'll probably want to uninstall it temporarily. I would suggest deleting the following files as well(all will be in your Everquest 2 directory):

cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.ini

You could also move those files to another folder instead of deleting them if you want to be able to reverse this step.

No custom interface, and I don't think the UI thing will work, as this happened (again) on the very first log in with a fresh install of EQ2. No idea what's causing this, I was able to get this toon up to 28 before it happened. I can play other characters, but once it gets broken, it seems to be broken for good. Note, I just made a new toon and played for a couple of hours with no issue. But still can't get onto my main.

An uninstall will not delete the files I listed above and would still effect a fresh install. You're currently getting xml errors and xml is primarily used in the UI. Please delete or move the files listed in the previous post since it seems like the most likely possibility at this point.

I uninstalled EQ2 when I formated the hard drive. Anyways, tried what you said (deleting the suggested files/folders), and have the same issue. The only difference now is rather than having to log back in, it just kicks me to the character select screen. Here's the new log (longer because I tried to get in 3 times)

Couldn't load .xmlEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of container tagsEncountered data outside of
Memory problem perhaps? I'm no tech guy but it sounds like a hardware issue to me.

I did notice that when you delete the UI files, you lose your additional hot bars, but when you 'add a new hotbar', whatever you had populated there comes back, so could the issue be there?

The issue as you're describing it is very unusual. You might want to PM me with your station name so I can check for any corrupted fields in the account information. A problem like that usually doesn't cause this type of error, but it seems like a possibility.

At this point we can rule out the login rejected bug or any other account side issues. I ran a test for those errors and even tried logging in and running around for about 30 minutes. I didn't experience any problems.

At this point a connection related issue seems like the only possibility. Please post any information you have about your antivirus/firewall/router, assuming you have those things. You'll probably want to post your tracert results as well. You can find descriptions on how to retrieve that information in the post at the top of the connection issues forum.

Daniel,

It's a router problem. I borrowed my neighbor's connection and had no issue. Any suggestions? It's a Netgear CG814GCMR.

I tried setting up a static IP and did the port forwarding thing to no avail. Does WPA security cause issues??

Also, I apologize for blaming the game for my issue. And I appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance.

I would advise using the following website for help with your router configuration.

http://www.portforward.com/english/...routerindex.htmSimply select the router you are using then select Everquest 2 on the next page. You will then be presented with a walkthrough on how to forward the correct ports. Please respond if you need any further assistance.

Using the portforwarding.com guides didn't correct the problem. Any other suggestions? Thanks again for the help.

Something must be blocking the game from accessing our servers for the error to look like that. Let's disable all of the programs that start automatically with Windows to make sure one isn't conflicting.

To disable background programs:1. Select the START button.2. Select RUN, then type in "msconfig" (for Vista, type msconfig in the search bar at the bottom of the Start Menu)3. Press OK4. Select the STARTUP tab.5. In the list, uncheck all boxes EXCEPT for SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY. If you use Windows XP, please note that SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY will not be listed - just uncheck the entire list.6. Hit apply and then OK. Restart the computer and try the game again.

If the problem persists after trying that then we will probably need you to post some of your MSinfo file. Specifically, we will need the running tasks and error reporting sections.
