It occurs to me that there are very many addresses available to players throughout Norrath. There are different layouts, different numbers of rooms, varying broker slots and rent options. It is this final criteria that bothers me the most though.

Why are there not MORE payment options? Basically there is a cost in just coin and then a reduced coin cost involving personal status which you may chose to ameliorate by incorporating status reducing items in the house. You can have the idiotic duplication of numbers 2 and 4 Bayle Court standing side by side in SQ which are identical inside, have the same facilities and cost exactly the same amount.

Why doesn't SOE revamp the whole "zoning" issue and make each address different, not neccesarily in layout, but in cost or even introduce a sliding scale of status? So for instance Bayle Court could start out at say 5p per week with no status contribution down to something like 20g per week with the present 60k status hit. In between there could be say 5 levels of intermediate pricing depending on how much gold or status you were prepared to pay out.

For all the "addresses" in the game there are far too few differences between them. If they can't be made more different then maybe they could be made more individually attractive by a more varied pricing structure?

For those who already 'own' a house, changing their house layout would be rather.. upsetting.

Otherwise, yes, I, too, would love to have more house layout options and possibly more payment options. I also really do think Freeport and Qeynos need a non-guilded option for a 5 bedroom (other than the LoN card).

(as a side note, tradeskills has nothing to do with housing, this would probably be better in Look and Feel since it's asking for a look/feel type change)

I hate the layout of the houses in Freeport, probably not wild about Qeynos either, but I haven't spent as much time in them though they are roomier it seems. I do like the Neirak housing but I don't want to move everyone to Neriak.

No thanks on the rent increases.

I'm all for more layouts on the floor plan. If you did change one of the existing addresses, there would need to be an option as a prior poster said - either keep the old or pack up and move into the new.

I even wish the 1 room inn's were SLIGHTLY different from each other. You know, move the window from one 'burb to the other and shuffle where the bookcases are in Qeynos...move the platform in the Freeport ones. A little variety would go a long way.

Even adding some new wall/floor options would go a long way!

Qeynos houses have different textures you can choose from

Freeport houses have different textures you can choose from

Neriak houses have ........ no different textures. Why?

Different floorplans are always welcome and different payment methods too.

As for floor plans I like everyone except Kelethin. I will never start a character there because of how the housing looks. Of course the other cities with more options is better. But I just can’t stand that acorn look. I would like the bigger houses in Freeport and Qeynos to remove the guild level restrictions.

I like the idea of a more varied housing structure. I also think it would be useful to be able to see which version you the house is before you "tour" it. If there is a way to do this already, I apologize. I have not been able to figure this out other than actually zoning in to tour it, only to find out as I zone it is the same version I looked at 5 times before. Just as the "access" from outside the housing shows the price and upkeep, I would also like to see the version (for example 3 room version 1 versus 3 room version 2). That way I know I have seen that version and don't have to zone in.

Devs commented a while ago that they didn't design the new housing areas with additional floor/wall patterns because it was just too much work considering the amount of time and resources they have to spend on housing (not a quote obviously)

The first thing I would like to see changed about housing myself is the addition of 5 room houses in Maj'dul. I don't really want to live in a smaller house than 5 rooms and the maj'dul homes have a unique look to them.

After that I'd just rather them spend time creating new cities with new housing options rather than going back and changing stuff. Once you actually find the layout you like the price eventually becomes a non issue and even the address does to some extent with guild halls.

NOTE that I believe there are plenty of aspects of the game that I would like to see the devs go back and rework, but housing prices and locations isn't one of them.

i agree with mostly all that is said here about more different things, but what i also want is more Race Specific homes too, and make us halflings have the option of a bigger house without leaving our little place, more house options in baubleshire not single rooms only. and my gnome would alos love a bigger room in the baubleshire.

More layout options would be terrific, and in Qeynos and Freeport it would be nice to have the non-guilded options also. As was asked in a different post/forum was housing in Mara (yes, yes, yes). Majdul seems fairly obivious as a place that you think would have an option of 5 room housing. It even seems plausible that Moors would have housing of some sort that would appeal to the more reptilian species. I would even venture that having dwarving type dwellings near Butchblock docks would have great appeal. These suggested housing placements are near focal transport areas so there would be some ease of travel around Norrah.

Kelethin, and to lesser degree Freeport and Neriak, got totally screwed when it comes to housing. Neriak's 5-room layouts are awesome, but without the ability to change any of the features (wall, ceiling, trim), it sucks. Freeport has more flexibility in appearance and I love the 'balcony'.

Kelethin, though, is utter crap. If you can put a doorway in an acorn, you can put a few windows in an acorn, and like Neriak, the lack of texture options is completely obnoxious. I find myself immediately relocating any 'good' characters I make to Qeynos, or and not bothering with the house while I stay in Kelethin.

It also seems to me that Qeynos' 5-room is larger than any other city's 5-room, and certainly has more 'character' in its layout than anywhere else.
