Greetings,

When I enter the Butcherblock area the screen goes completely black except for my UI. I can still hear sound effects, and chat, but I can't move in the inky blackness. Gorowyn is fine, everywhere else seems fine, but not Butcherblock. I believe I am using the most up-to-date drivers on all my hardware. This is a strange thing. Downloading the game takes ages and ages even 5 meg cable, and I have to tell you, if I can't get this fixed I might jump ship. Anyone have a solution to this?

All the drivers of the following are updated:

XP 32 SP3

EVGA 780i mobo

(2) XFX 8800 Ultra's SLI

C2D 8400 3.0

X-Fi audio card

I should add that the game was running fine on my Vista machine (Irony). I upgraded to XP and had to re-download the game, and reinstall. When I originally clicked on the launcher is sent me to the character creation screen and my old characters were gone. That didn't seem right. So I found a different shortcut in one of the EQII folders and clicked on that...that one worked and brought me to my old characters... I honestly have no idea what I'm doing as you can tell. It seems when I re-downloaded the game I have two accounts almost.

Greetings,

You may want to delete the following files and folders:cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.iniTo do this, please follow these directions:1. First look for your EverQuest II directory. You can find the default directory in: C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II2. Click on MY COMPUTER and then proceed into local disk C:3. Navigate your way to the default directory, or your chosen installation directory.4. Next look for any files explained above and delete them. 5. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher.

Please let me know if that doesn't correct the issue.
