Digging Up The Evidence - fixed?

<p>I found the handkerchief and examined it in Nov 2007.  The handkerchief vanished and the new quest "The Flowing Cape of the Dark Lord" opened - but "Digging Up The Evidence" never closed.  I no longer have the handkerchief and the grave I found it in does nothing.  I have not deleted the quest because I do not know if that will invalidate the next quest, and I no longer have the starter (the shovel) to try again.  eq2i.wiki no longer has it on its bug list, but they do not say how to fix it if it is already borked.  What can I do to complete "Digging"?</p>

Delete it <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />? If you have already the next quest, you will miss only the AA for that. If you want to be safe petition it.
