<p>Currenly I am using the rok faction master crafted Battlement Battalion 623 Targ, I'm really finding it difficult to find a better replacement. I had one drop in Scion of Ice and it really wasn't the most impressive shield, the name escapes me. The stats were less and the protection rating as well, has a power proc on it.</p><p>There is a TSO kite shield, Kiteshield of The Night that looks like a pretty decent replacement, lose some stats but theres a 15% shield effectiveness bonus and it has a better protection rating... So the question is, should I spend the 18 shards to get that, or is there a better shield that group content provides?</p>

<p>Yes.  The last name in DF drops a very nice fabled shield.</p><p>The last name in Crucible also drops a very nice fabled shield.</p>

<p>Just checked my bank- the DF shield is the "Magmatic Bronze Rock Blocker".</p><p>The Crucible Shield is the "Deepwater Barrier".</p>

<p>I got <span><a href="http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Spine_of_the_Skorpsis" target="_blank">Spine of the Skorpsis</a> aITEM -1913547685 -1344320281:Spine of the Skorpsis/a prior to starting my epic line, still progressing my epic but Skorpsis is a good temporary replacement to my MC'd Claymore, it is two handed however so not a direct alternative.</span></p><p>Good thing about this is that it is a quest reward so you don't have to do the group instance a number of times before it drops. Quest is <a href="http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Anaphylaxis" target="_blank">Anaphylaxis</a>.</p>

I still have a crappy MC sword.</p></blockquote><p>First off, I wouldn't give up on the epic.  It's really your best option.  That said, if it needs to be on a back-burner for whatever reason I think you'd find that the next best one hander that is attainable from heroic content drops in CoA in Sebilis.  It's called the Nathsar Shortsword (or maybe Shortsword of the Nathsar).  High damage range and good threat proc.  Lots of people liked that weapon prior to the arrival of the epics.</p>

<p>Get on SoH pick up run and hope the Righteous Barrior drops...</p><p>Deepwater Barrior is crusader minded and decent....</p><p>Living Wall is better for pure tanking....</p><p>Rock  Blocker is meh...</p>

<p>Living Wall is nice but I passed since I already had Deepwater Barrier.</p><p>I retired my Righteous Barrier in favor of the Deepwater.</p><p>For weapons, keep plugging away at the Fabled epic. It's worth the effort. <p>Shield of Transference drops in AOB and I've seem some SKs that actually prefer it.  Dunno why I guess, I thought it was one of the worst fabled instance shields?</p>
