I wasnt aware AA's were changed with the 'must be unarmed' penalty removed, whichever line had that.

So is it still beneficial as a bruiser, at lower levels to keep hands empty since the Fist dps seems to be higher than pretty much any fist weapon i could use?

I would say use the best weapons that you can find and ditch the thought of bare fists. Bare fists no longer give a bonus to dps mod and weapons have always allowed stats.

On a monk where they can haste things well at low levels the mastercrafted gear works nice.

But, i feel that a bruiser does quite well with 3.0 delay weapons at early levels as well. I recently made an alt bruiser and the 3.0 dual wield weapons are fine for me.

If you feel the dual wield penalty is too great for your bruiser, then grab a 2.5 2hander. you will get better damage than bare fist, retain the delay of fists, and you'll get stats.

Bare-handed is never better than using MC weapons even if you use ones with the worst possible stats.

I got the bruiser a couple fistwraps. Thanks for the help everyone. I was thrown off at seeing barehand damage numbers higher than weapon damage, the extra stats were nice, and Im doing more dps than before. Someone in game had a discussion with me about how it works.

I used my bare fist up until lv 50. That's when they took out the weapon from the Str line. I really miss the 96% double attack chance. I really enjoyed going up to a mob unarmed and then laying em out.

I just levelled a bruiser up to 25 in the last couple days. At the very low levels the innate barehand damage completely surpases the very best mastercrafted weapons. Best case scenario is right on the level you can equip the mastercrafted gear. Your fists get better every level though, so as you level you pull away from the weapons. Dunno when that peaks out though, but doesn't look like it'll be anytime soon.
