So i had a guild member offer to make me a MC bow. Which got me thinking.

Why a bow? Why not knives, hammers, ect?

Beyond that I dont really know how to "fit" a bow into my niche. Other than just simply pulling i dont much see a need/use for a bow. And if i'm simply pulling, do i really need a MC bow? More often than not i find it simplier and easy to sneak up and BS a mob rather than pull it.(if there are no adds near by)

I'm curious what other assassins use bows for? Are they just primary tools for pulling or do you some how work our bow attacks into your routine?

The bow will give you the ability to pull at a distance if you're soloing mobs that can see invis/stealth...another thing it provides is some pretty decent hitting pwr (due to the long delay) and the stats on the bows themselves are good too. Don't forget to look for tinkerer adorns too (DPS mods and dmg/heal)

in a group/dps role do you somehow work bow into your routine or just ignore it completely?

Do you only use a bow for soloing/raiding mobs with AE's?

I'm not as "math" savvy to pay attn to my auto attacks and my CAs, but there does come a time in a grp role where all your CAs can be down and no auto attacks are going off...When that occurs I will back up use the 3 ranged attacks, then resourceful weapon (since its a melee ranged attack) which will trigger the auto attack button and then its back to work.

Since I reside on a PvP server, I actually use the Boomerrang Bandolier for PvE (due to the fact it has double attack on it) and with it I'm clearing my DA around 35%. But I would use my bow all the time, just try to work it into your routine to maximize your DPS.

There are two main reason to equip any ranged weapon (bow or thrown) on an assassin, the first and foremost is the stats. Find a weapon that has stats that help all your dps (i.e., +crit, +DA, +CA, str, int, whatever you need).

Second is for soloing, you can use one of your back ranged attacks, and then your multishot frontal ranged attack (and the ranged attack itself will usually hit also), and by the time the mob gets to you it will be at least half dead. The longer the range on your "ranged" weapon the more time you will have to get the second ranged attack in.

As for a ranged weapon in a group or raid setting, Stats and for all those ranged fights or jousting.
