I only recently came back to EQ2, about 2-3 weeks so far. I've been having tons of fun playing a DPS Berserker with emphasis on the AE damage. I even picked dwarf for the racial AE ability. Now it seems with the upcoming changes that my AE damage is going to get me unwanted attention in groups. With the upcoming changes, is the idea of a DPS Zerker going to be viable? Or am I just going to have narrow my focus to single targets instead of AE?

Berserkers aren't really that viable in a DPS position like you want, at least not without becoming the tank; Berserkers are, after all, tanks first, DPS second. You'd be better off as a predator or brigand for single target DPS, or a swashbuckler or sorcerer for AoE dps, as all these classes greatly out-damage a Berserker.

well, someone has to tank.. i guess what you (the OP) is asking for is amends still viable to hold aggro off a DPS zerk, yes it is the ONLY tool aside from a crazy SK. things will be changing soon though so perhaps you may be able to DPS as an offtank without worry of ripping aggro but therein lies a whole nother set of issues.
