I just reinstalled EQ2 and was patching all my expansions and adventure packs in when it suddenly stopped and gave me a download cancelled. I attempted to restart the download but it just cancels after about 5 seconds. I have googled my heart out trying to find a solution to this problem, but it seems everyone experiencing this is on vista, so their fixes do not work for me (windows XP).

At the moment I tried a small fix by switching to EU and downloading and it has about 3 hours left but there is no telling when it could cancel so I thought I should make this thread anyway.

You should know that I have no firewall running and have never had any problems running EQ2 before this.

Thank you for any help I can get on this, I will really appreciate it.

The EU client is somewhat different and you'll only have access to the EU servers when running that version of the client.

Generally, the download cancelled message means that something is blocking the download. Vista is the most common cause, but it could be an anti-virus or firewall as well. Barring that, one of the files may be set to read-only which would block the download.

1. Navigate to the Sony folder (Default: C:Program FilesSony)2. Right click the 'Sony' folder and select 'properties'3. Go to the 'General' tab4. Uncheck the box that says 'read-only' at the bottom of that window5. Select 'apply to all files/folders' when prompted
