Hi all,

yesterday night I got my first pattern for this set :

aITEM -558904136 -1309582068esecrated Wristguards of Darkness/a

The stats and effect on the item seem ok, I quite like the runic cover effect.

Looking at the set bonuses I have to say I have mixed feelings about it.

2 set bonus - doesn't really add much.

4 set bonus - does it really make much of a difference, maybe someone who has 4 parts can share on their experience.

6 set bonus - 10% heal crit. That sounds nice, except we don't really heal too much to begin with. Personally I don't even take the Agi line at all and do not value heal crit at all.

Our strength is in wards not heals and looking at the raid parses , my healing spells account for a few percent , while my wards account for everything else.

I am not over excited by this set at all.

From defilers that have the 4-set bonus, I've heard mixed reactions. The description is quite vague, and lets on that the ward component would be like Shroud of Armor's ward. It's actually a chance to proc a ward on the person with Precognition on them each time they get hit. So, it's not up all the time or anything.

I would assume the 6 set bonus would affect wards, direct heals, and any procs with combinations of the above? The reason I assume this is because the +heal crit statistic applies to our wards. The +heal crit bonus simply raises the amount that our heal crits land for. This suggests that it would be a blanket bonus and therefore apply to our wards as well. If that is the case, then 10% is huge. I am not sure if any defilers have discovered all pieces and possess the 6 bonus as of yet, though many have the 4-set bonus and can give a little better feedback on that bonus.

Needless to say, the set is at least an improvement over the abysmal VP set.

I'm still waiting on the RNG to work in my favor for the 4th piece so not able to evaluate yet on how well or often that effect procs. I'm with Sedenten on this though. After suffering a year with the craptacular VP armor, this set is a huge improvement. It's nice to see that at least one developer didn't overtly kick us in the butt.

I thought I would add that the 2-set bonus from VP and the 2-set bonus from TSO stack to provide an impressive base on Bane of Warding. On some fights where a lot of area damage is being done, that debuff makes up a good amount of my overall heals.

It's +10 heal crit BONUS not +10 heal crit CHANCE...meaning your crit heals will be 10% larger.

Sedenten wrote:

I am not sure if any defilers have discovered all pieces and possess the 6 bonus as of yet, though many have the 4-set bonus and can give a little better feedback on that bonus.

I believe no one has killed the mob that drops BP patterns yet.

I bid on a set of pants in VP with Runic cover as a proc on them (For like 750) and it went off 3 times in one entire night according to ACT... not impressed. I transmuted them.

Does the Runic cover from the wrists proc much?

If it does, we're still stuck with the fact that runic covers don't stack, so if your MT templar has Ethereal Mist Gauntlets (With a better runic cover proc) then you're wasting your time with these right?

Edit after reading other forums - It credits the ward to the person taking the damage. Ill have to check out act and see what it is actually doing then.

Is the 4 piece bonus working as intended? Ive been checking the parses and Ive had entire raids where Precognitive Ward has shown two hits in ACT. Im assuming that Precognitive Ward is the ward from Precognition. I am in the MT group so theres no question as to who is taking damage.

Seems to be working fine, with all the healing attributed to 'Precognitive Ward', so it can be hard to tell who healed who if you have multiple defilers in raid. It seems to be pretty weak, but not ridiculously so - like 30 hps per person on a fight with fairly constant damage, which is about half as strong as, say, Ward of the Oracle from avatar breastplate.

It does 30 hps but you can realistically only have it on two people, and I've seen ward of the oracle go for over 400 hps before. (distributed to the entire group, obviously, but, it lands on 6, vs the precogs two maintained, sooo, yeah, it's pretty terrible)
