Hi all,

This is something I have had difficulty with for a while now, but especially with the GU 51 changes coming along, I feel like I should think about it more.

My fiancee is a berserker, while I am a warden. Pretty much every time we play it is duoing together (doing guild groups every now and then).

I currently have 61 AA points, and have always been torn between placing them into melee DPS vs. healing AAs. I feel like I could still be a decent healer DPS-specced, and maybe should have some DPS abilities since we don't have a real DPS class in the group. At the same time, being healing specced probably means I can keep my tank alive much longer, which might allow us to take on tougher mobs.

Right now, I have a mixture:

Druid:

Shape Shift (1)

Warden:

Fire Strike (5)

Cold Slice (5)

Whirl of Frost (5)

Defender of the Forest (5)

Force of Nature (1)

Enhance: Resurrections (3)

Enhance: Regenerating Spores (4)

Enhance: Aspect of the Bat (5)

Enhance: Healing Grove (5)

Enhance: Death Interventions: (5)

Shadow:

Hearty Constitution (5)

Enhanced Mind (5)

Prayer of Healing (1)

With the changes to the Berserker coming up, I wonder even more if I should spec more into DPS. I am afraid of a situation where if my fiancee is in DEF stance, it will take us forever to be able to kill anything, but if he is OFF stance, I will keep stealing aggro from him.

Any suggestions?

It will take some adjustments on your husband's part, but in a duo setting your husband should still be able to do enough hate from damage alone in offensive stance to hold aggro over your heals and dps. The only real difference is your husband wont be able to use his taunts or snaps to grab the mob back if he loses aggro in offensive. In fact, the altered beserker offensive stance should actually allow him to do more dps while in offensive and aggro shouldnt really be a problem. If it comes down to you guys needing the taunts, your husband can always opt to run neither offensive or defensive stance as a middle ground between dps and tanking because there will be no penalities if he doesn't run any stances. I dont really see defensive stance being all that required unless you guys are in full groups and crawling through heroic dungeons and instances where theres a lot of dps being put out by high damage classes. For the average duo / solo content you 2 will get by just as always, in fact probably with a little more dps curteosy of the revamped beserker offensive.

Hi Larry,

Thanks for the reply. It is reassuring to hear that we should still be able to make a good team. Do you have any thoughts about the spec that I posted above? Do you think there are any adjustments I should make to my AA's that would work better with the changes?

It looks like you are pretty much on the right track as far as your AA distribution. I would suggest maxing Prayer of Healing and then maxing Litany of Combat next, after that I believe you have to spend some more AA to unlock the druid line of the Shadows tree.

The next places to spend your AA would be in your non shadows Druid tree. For damage, I would suggest Int line first (full Int all the way down to infusion, 4 4 8 6 1), then Str line (full line not needed, but minimum of 4 4 . Infusion at the end of Int line is awesome for passive damage dealing. Everything you heal, you nuke. For a little extra passive healing power you could opt to spend in Natural Boon after you max the double attack on Str line. For healing, I would suggest going down Agi line first. The entire line isnt really necessary, but at a minimum you should go for 4 4 4 8. Sta line is the other healing line. In that tree, the heal crit block is most important, but if you were going to aim your character at more of a damage dealing toon, then Sta line isnt required at all. In my current spec I am Str / Agi / Int.
