How does one get a low level crafting toon to Fens? I can't seem to get past the bridge part in KP. Is there another way? or some tips?

Once you reach the sokolar post you are golden....getting there has been the problem. The bridge you take in KP that splits one way goes to a castle area and the other goes to section of land that gets you to the sokolar post to Fens.

So what route did you take to get to the Fens post?

Maybe I am poorly mis remembering this, but when I took my sage throught this (go read eq2traders seriously there is a great write up on this) All I had to do was the sokar quest, then the quest after that sent me to terran grasp, then after that I had a flight path already setup for fens. Also as I did the other TS quests in TG I got my post for JW too.

Not sure crafters still get the freebie Fens post - none of my guildmates I've run through there seem to get it.

My recommendation is skip the bridge entirely. Instead, swim from Dreg's Landing - the water's perfectly safe until you get close to the fishmen's village. There's a section of beach before the river next to the fishmen where it's safe to go ashore if you're careful. After that it's just watch how the sathirians wander around and head towards the Fens post.

My level 10 bard / 80 tailor did the TS soko quest recently , after that it was easy to fly to fens.

I believe I had to swim --- I went to the bridge in KP and jumped into the water near there. Don't remember exactly where i was able to climb up, but i ended up walking along the edge of the ridge heading to the Sokarkar post. Only a couple of mobs to watch for that way.

ôô

Doing the Sokokar Post and the New Lands New Profits (I think that's the name) quests will get you a punt to Kunzar's Edge. Grab the Sokokar Post there. Then run up the road towards the Fens. You are likely to die as a low adventure level but if you get past the castle into the area where the coerced mudfins are, you can revive at the Fens post. Grab the sokokar post and tah dah, you're good to go in the future.

Thanks all. I tried swimming but I guess I went to the wrong side. lol I especially like the post saying if I make it to a certain point when I die I'm closer to my goal.

I ended up just swimming East from the docks, loop up past Varis, and to the rocks directly under the Fens post. Nothing bothered me in the water at all. Then did the 'Abyss' maneuver (drown!) to get a revive option next to the sokokar post there.

Not much different that getting killed by a mob, but at least none of them can claim my lowbies as kills!

Similarly, getting to the fourth box for the Fens faction quest was always very difficult for me.. to save time, I'd throw myself at the walking Rilissian on the path near the eastern Sokokar post. The revive spot from there was up near Riliss, but had a clear path without any real aggro (past the rhino pens, skirting the brutes and warsliks by staying on the rock barrier, then over to the fourth box).

I used the cheater method...

I swam as close as I could get to the cliff by the Fens post, then held my head under water and waited to land at the revive point.

Messy..but it worked!

Overconfidence, Murphy's/Bristlebane's Law, what have you. The younger they are, the less they die on this series for me!

Im confused by you guys having to swim - I did the quest just a few days ago, and the guy in Terens (Greeblus?) ported me to the Kunzars Edge tower - meaning I could walk reasonably easily north along the path to the Fens post with minimal aggo. Im not sure what I did different, but it was reasonably easy, and no swimming involved.

If I can't do the sokokar quest I just swim straight round from Dreg's Landing to Kunzar's edge and then run up the road. I had to do it last week to get my 27 Fury to the Kunzar Jungle ring and didn't have any problems.

(take smouldering coal!). Speak to Jones again

b) Go and release the essar hawk at Karnors Castle. Speak to Jones again

c) Make 3 more things for Jones (coal again!). Bolt cutters I think. Speak to Jones again

d) walk up the path to terens and talk to the guy at the sok post. You get given a Sokokar at this point. Bind it to the post at terens before you complete the dialog. When you complete the dialog, the guy there sends you to Kunzar - he ports you there. Talk to the guy right next to where you end up when you zone.

e) Walk back from the Kunzar tower to the nearby Sok post (no aggro mobs, in fact, no mobs at all I think) and fly back to Dregs. Fly back to Terens from Dregs. Speak to the guy at the Sok post again. At this point you have enough Terens faction to be able to talk to the Greeblus guy who gives you the New Lands, New Profits Qst.

f) Fly back to Kunzar and walk up the path to the Fens post. If you die half way, you revive at the fens post anyway.

I think thats mostly right. Some of the smaller details maybe wrong.

I hope this helps people who are having to swim...

You can't do the sokokar quests if you are under 65 in both crafting and adv levels.

As explained above, if you are a crafter you get a seperate line of quests. I did exactly what I described above on my lvl 48 wizard (70 sage) a few days ago.

In fact, I have done this with my 45 Inqui (80 Tailor) and my 48 SK (80 Armourer) too.

This is how folks get their TS epic's and faction specific recipies.
