In the last playtest, I think Aeralik was running as a warlock. What I'd be interested in seeing is him play a Paladin, and get a feel for how well (or not) the class performs as the tank in a few instance runs. However, saying that, I'd encourage him to not roll up a decked out Paladin in full VP or TSO fabled, all masters and 200 APs. Instead, create one that is wearing T1 void armor, all adept 3 and 160 APs. Run through a few of the easier TSO instances (say Anathema and Nu'Roga? Something that's not dead easy like DF, but also not on the level of PoF or NA). Try to create a group of "average" players with mostly legendary gear, a few fabled pieces. Maybe throw in one DPS class with a mythical, since that does happen live, but don't stack the deck against him.

While knowing how things work at the top end of things is important, it's also necessary to know how these changes are going to affect "average" players with less-than-spectacular gear, spells and number of APs. But the real point is to have him sitting in the proverbial hot-seat, having to try and hold aggro using his new mechanics against DPS classes who are trying to compete with each other to top the parse and ride right below 100% threat. And then come back and give us an honest opinion of what the experience was like, and if there's anything that he'd consider changing as a result of it.

Greater void shard gear is easy enough to get, but I'd agree with 160 AA and adept3s for a non-raider.

Then after he has found his feet - have him had over to veksar and see how he likes chain stuns and uncureable incoming stuns the orginal veksar that was released is perfect for just showing you what guk is like and many raid mobs... but a different tier of dificulty.

The instances that I listed are balanced towards people in T1 void gear, so it shouldn't be an impossible test. I wouldn't be opposed to him slapping on a set of T2 void gear and heading into Guk to get a feel for that as well, of course. But I thought keeping it simple, and something most other testers could accomodate, would be best.

An excellent idea, especially after the numbers posted in the previous playtest thread.

I would also request that there be at least one AE DPS class in the group (warlock, swash, etc), and no superior hate-management classes (no dirge, no coercer). I know they're always there in a raid setting, but not every 6-man group has the luxury of having those along, and a tank should be able to perform in a group setting without requiring one of those two classes to be present.

Consider it the "pickup group" test if you want.

And this is not an appropriate manner in which to suggest this. We do not post on the forums calling out staff or anyone else by name.

Offer it as feedback in the existing playtesting threads, or suggest it to him in person at the playtest.

Whilst I recognize that you have issues you badly want addressed, the forums are not a springboard for campaigns of any sort.

Please use the correct channels.
