Brigand epic weapon question (Chardok bit)

<p>Hi,</p><p>I'm doing the brig epic quest and seem to be stuck on the Chardok bit.</p><p>The guide at EQ2i says "Now head to Chardok and slay any heroic mob near the entrance to the zone to receive an update" after which you need to get a lot of (uncommon) body drops off L80+ heroics in the zone.</p><p>I've solo'd the two heroics in the archway down to the ring event area a few times, but no ding.   Is this update a really rare one, or is there a specific mob to kill?   There's no L80 heroics near the entrance, they're L76/77 or so, so I'm assuming the initial update mob's level doesn't matter.</p><p>Any clues welcome <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>Thanks!</p>

<p>The mobs at the front of the zone will not give updates.  The mobs will all be lvl 80+ to get the update.  You have to go a bit deeper in the zone to find the mobs that will update.</p><p>The best thing you can do is try to join up with a group that is working on their epic updates.  You're going to need to kill a ton of mobs to get all the updates.</p>

<p>Hey, I *just* did this step less than a week ago and I can CONFIRM that I got a quest update from a NON-heroic BLUE sarnak at the zone in from KP. I had just zoned into Chardok and was waiting for the rest of my groupmates to get there, so I was killing things out of boredom. First I killed a scaled wolf, and then the next mob happened to be a sarnak. Boy, was I surprised when I heard a "ding" after it keeled over! My quest journal then said something like, "Now that I have discovered those who would torture a traitor, I need to exact my revenge", and it then gave me the counters: 0/40 for tails, 0/40 for claws, and 0/40 for beaks.</p>

<p>While you are correct that this sarnak at the enterance will 'ding' your quest update.  The very next part with all of those 0/40 pieces you need to get will only come from much further in Chardok.  If I am not mistaken you have to go through at least 2 gates before you will find the sarnaks that will update your quest.  For a great guide on this epic, head over to eq2flames for more details.</p><p>Blaq~</p>

<p>I'm finished with the 40/40/40 part, and the only Sarnaks that had the potential to have these items as body loot were level 80 or higher, and they were all ^^^ or ^^. My group took the sokokar post and just worked our way over the bridge, and down the first two staircases, heading towards the raid zone, and then back again. Probably took about 3 hours total, because we had no healer, and were proceeding cautiously.</p>
