To preface this post, I'll admit I'm primarily a healer and only DPS if healing is not an issue. The majority of the time my AA's are built with the interest of fulfilling my role as healer. Recently I sat down and created an alternate "DPS spec" with my AA's to store in a mirror. My main interest in this was to speed up the process of soloing and to play around with maximizing my damage output in extremely easy going groups and raids.

That being said, I ended up getting Spiritual Ally to round out this DPS build. I didn't really pay too much attention to the actual effects of the buff, but noticed very quickly after using this AA that it hinders the effectiveness of two of our DPS abilities. Here's the reason:

* Increases the casting time of beneficial spells by 15%

At first glance, this seems innocent enough and might make sense. In practice, however, it slows down the casting Pandemonium and mythical clickie.

What I'd rather see is the beneficial casting time penalty removed altogether and the reduction in the healing amount raised to compensate.

EDIT: Found a contradiction in my original post, so fixed that!

Anything considered a beneficial will be affected, and they are not going to change that for our stances as every class has these. Basically if you wanna DPS you are going to suck at heals, and if you wanna heal like a beast you are going to suck at DPS.

The only thing that I would like for them to do it match the penalty %'s that were imposed on the mystics. 15% down to 13.5%. Yea I know it's not much, but a little help anyways!
