I just acquired my last piece of the t1 zealot armor and was looking for some suggestions on where I should place my focus now that thats taken care of. Its basically a toss up between t2 jewelry or going straight for the t2 armor.

Also, as far as T2 jewelry goes, can you guys give me some suggestions as to what the better pieces are? I'm pretty much going for the all out tank stuff since the only thing I do on the SK these days is group. Right now i'm looking at using both the rumbling and the stone tower sets together.

It depends, just determine which causes the greater improvement. For example, as I had been almost entirely kitted out in T8MC gear the jewelry was a greater improvement from that than the t2 armour was above t1 so I went for the jewelry 1st. However, if you've got largely Fabled or some of the better Legendary bling already then you may want to go armour first.

Either way go straight for t2 bling as you don't need to buy the t1 in order to trade it against it, don't however overlook the t1 bling entirely as some of it is even better than the t2 for its price, or should I say more appropriate, it's all circumstantial after all.

Most of my jewelery is legendary quest gear, with the occasional instance drop. I think your right though and i'll go for the jewelery before I go for the armor, since I can probably get more of an improvement overall going that route. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as what pieces are 'must have' ?

The Crusading and Sirensteel sets from the infused jewelry merchant are both very nice because they get extra stats for being Crusader and Bard only items.

I am finding that with almost a full set of the Void Knight's armor (I went straight for the second set) that more spell crit isn't really needed and I was lacking double attack so I am also taking a hard look at the Onslaught set from the infused jewelry merchant and the Berserkers set from the normal jewelry merchant.

Just make sure you save up the shards for the full set of tier 2 before you get them. Its sucky to lose the bonuses on the tier 1 set and not get them for a LONG time on the tier 2 stuff.

I almost wished they made the pieces 'interchangeable' so you could keep the lower tiers set bonuses with the 2nd tier pieces till you matched the tier 2 peices for their bonuses. Would be nice to have the 5 peice tier 1 set bonus while working to get the full set of tier 2 armor.

For now, I made my shoulders so I still get the 5 piece bonus.... Now I'm just going to save up shards for the t2, I think I'll hold out for last on the jewelry, just my preference though. The void knight set looks SKish

I am in the same boat as the above two posters. I have 5 pieces of the T1 and am just saving shards now till I can afford 5 pieces of T2. The mitigation hit taken when losing the 5 piece bonus is too much. Jewelry and charms are last on my void shard wish list.

I suppose a lot depends on how fast you get Void Shards.

My general tactic for shard items, for the primary role of heroic-instance group tank, has been:

#1: All 6 items of the Zealot set.

#2: The shoulder piece of the T2 Void Knight set.

#3: Saved up enough shards to get the 4 cheapest pieces (gloves/helm/boots/legs) of the T2 Void Knight set at one time.

#4: Final piece (chest) of the T2 Void Knight set

#5: Blocker's Bauble (best upgrade over my current lesser charm item)

#6: Stone Tower set of jewelry

#7: Sirensteel set of jewelry

#8: Inner Power set of jewelry

#9: Onslaught set of jewelry, to swap with Stone Tower for DPS situations.

EDIT: In response to a PM.. Yes, you can wear three sets of Void Shard jewelry at one time, assuming you select them carefully to match the possible slots. Sirensteel + Stone Tower + Inner Power can all be worn at one time, getting all three 3-piece set effects. Similarly, Sirensteel + Onslaught + Inner Power can be worn at the same time, too.

After the next GU, Void Shards will become 'heirloom' tagged, so that they will be able to be traded among alts. At that point I expect many enterprising souls to 6-box the LS/EF/CL zones routinely.. move the shards to the character with the tradeskill recipes.. and then sell the crafted items inclusive of the shards required. It might then be possible to quickly accumulate these items, instead of the (for me, at least) repetitive daily dungeon crawl.

I bought both sets of advanced armor first- starting with the shoulders.

Then I bought the mount.

Next is sirensteel.

What order you buy stuff in depends on your role in group/raid, and how much issue you have with survival- I got the DPS shard gear first and then the defensive stuff, just because the DPS gear was a better match for SK- the defensive is nice for raids and for a few names in instances, but for the most part I just wear five pieces of the DPS plus the Mighty Hauberk. For moderately hard-hitting mobs I swap on the defensive shoulders for extra mit.

Honestly the defensive set is not SK optimal AT ALL. I've heard that there will be new sets of shard armor with one of the up-coming GU's- if so I hope there is a more SK optimal defensive set. I can't complain too much since the DPS set is pretty much made for SK, even if the appearance on it is an offense to nature, and known to cause epilepsy and blindness.

Man, I consider myself a moderate to heavy player as far as playing time goes and I cant even begin to think about a second set of void armor let alone multiple sets of jewelry. I'm lucky to average 4-6 shards a night at the pace I play. /envy

My wife play an inquisitor, and the two of us just grab 4 DPSers and go instancing whenever we can. On a good night we can pull in 8 shards in about 2.5 hours, and on weekends the sky is the limit.

If getting shards fast is your goal, Crucible is king, followed by Deep Forge, Anathema, and Evernight.

Daily doubles are obviously very handy there as well, if any of those 4 are DD we hit that first.

Curious why you started with the shoulders. Unlike most other sets our shoulders dont give any ability so would of thought the breastplate with the increase to amount of damage ignored would of been the best piece to start.

I currently have a Full set of Tier 1 and 27 shards towards tier 2 so enough for any tier 2 piece just want to make sure I am not missing something 1st

With the entire set this is +10 and will push the sad little mit on the armor up to 700+ per piece.

Thanks, I will take another look tonight.

I went for the crusader set over the generic fighter set as I thought it gave more to me.

Right. Getting the T2 shoulders with the remaining pieces T1 will give you an 8 mitigation increase. And make it so difficult to hand in any of the other T1 pieces until you can hand in four at once to go up to 10 mit.

I felt mitigation was the one area where the gear was lacking, so have tried to keep the bonuses intact as I collected shards.
