I have been on trial for a few days now and was actually going to buy game tomorrow but today I encountered a problem that is causing me to rethink this.

Today my internet went down for about 1 minute and of course it booted me from the game. When the internet came back on I restarted game and logged in to my character. I had hit F11 to see my framerate and when my character logged back into game I started to move. As I moved I noticed the packets lost count go up (which had never happened before). Now everytime I log in to any character the same thing happens and it eventually gives me a "Trying to log in to server #1" message box which keeps going until server #5 and then displays "Could not connect to a login server. The servers may be busy: please try again in a few minutes." message box with quit button. This has been going on for about 7 hours now.

When I log in I can stand around, see people chatting, look at persona, play with options, cast self spells...but soon as I cast an offensive spell or even move I get packets lost and then black screen with above message boxes or it just goes back to character select.

Is this what I have to look forward to? Is there something I'm missing because I have looked in forums for the same problem and I have yet to locate it?

Did you cycle your router/modem? Unplug it for about 15 seconds then plug it in again....

If that doesnt work, post your tracert and pathping please

How to run a tracert and pathping

Disconnect issues with only certain character(s) usually mean that the router is blocking one of the ports used by the game. I would advise bypassing your router and plugging your computer directly into the modem as a first step. If you try that and it corrects your issue then you'll need to configure your router if you wish to continue using it.The following site has great information about router configuration:http://www.portforward.com/english/...routerindex.htmSimply select the router you are using then select Everquest 2 on the next page. You will then be presented with a walkthrough on how to forward the correct ports. Please respond if you need any further assistance.
