Did I mess up choosing my race?

<p>Never really thought about it, but when I made my assasin I made him a half-elf (ranger to start of corse then betray). He is level 58 atm with 70aa's and I was noticing the racial traits that dark elf and ratonga get, will the extra benifits for picking these classes have that much of an affect come raid time, meaning should I stop now and remake my assassin to one of those, or am I fine with what I got?</p>

<p>Half-elf doesn't really put you in that bad of shape.  Though dark elves would be ideal for a purely DPS focus, half-elf does give you a few perks.  The racial mitigation debuff strike is an art to open up with before your lay on your damage.  Also the +1 melee crit isn't bad.  And if you're the soloing type, the your temporary buff can be used for either DPS for quicker healing in between combat.</p><p>I'm a Half-Elf brigand.  For me, this combination came out more on pure accident from a character concept.  But I've been very happy with the results.</p>

<p>I play an 80 froglok assassin and i don't see any real differences between myself and other races. (And being a rare class/race combo is fun!)</p><p> Except for a few racial bonuses, (Some of which are really nice tho) everything pretty much evens out at the higher levels with gear and AA's. Like has been posted so many times before, just play the race you like and don't worry about min/maxxing everything.</p>

How often do you run into ogre assassins? lol</p><p>2. come to pvp servers where youll get a real sense of what its like to fight another player, outside the confines of a nice cut and dry gentlemans duel heh. (where assassins are intended to be, not in some arena facing opponents who know they are coming... thats contradictory to the class design)</p>

Not often, but the few I have met were pretty bad.</p><p>2. Duels are harder for assassins but I still do well.  I like pvp in theory not in reality.  If people wheren't such jerks it might be ok but that's never happening.</p>

<p>On a slightly related note, If you are a big race and size is a problem I found a nifty trick. I use the item that gives the billy doll illusion. Can't remember the name of the item, but it makes you look like the little rag doll. Even if you turn off the "display illusion" feature, it still shrinks you down. It's great for an ogre in small dungeons.</p>
