I do not believe it was an intentional change I think its more a bug than anything.

What it does is is only give you 1st person view, or pans the camera all the way out when using the scroll wheel with no in between settings.

I use my wheel to adjust how far I view all the time and especially for screenshots.

Oh good, not just me.

I don't have a mouse wheel, I use a trackball mouse, but I do use the - and + keys on the num pad to zoom in and out.

I can get right into first person, or waaaay out far. It won't stop just behind my toon.

I think it's pretty clearly a bug. There's also an issue with some armor not showing correctly; the textures aren't being drawn, and all you see is the underlying "wire mesh" for the various pieces. They're obviously doing some work with the client graphics, and a few things got screwed up in the process.

I sure hope this is a bug. I am constantly using the scroll while moving around zones to pan the view back and forth to my liking. It's hard for me to play my toons at all on the test server. I've sent in a bug report on it. Hope it gets resolved and back to the way it was.

Looks like a bug...on Testcopy even the keyboard control (numpad +/- by default) are doing the same thing.

Would be nice to see a red name comment as this is a seriously big issue.

I have the issue as well, and only on Test Server. The zoom function works just fine on live servers.

Like others who have posted here, using either the mouse scroll button or keyboard (keypad +, -), my character switches from first person to max zoom distance in third person, with absolutely nothing in between.

As I get motion sickness in first person, and the max distance is incredibly awkward anywhere other than open plains zones, I hope that this is addressed soon. Pleeeeaaaase!

;-)#

Brasse

Mouse wheel is a bug and they are aware..

From SOE Dev Kaitheel:

And although I know that the camera issue is being dealt with, I would suggest you focus your feedback about that particular problem on the already established threads pertaining to that topic.

Mouse Wheel Zoom

Hi All,

I was reading through the feedback and noticed a lot of people are bothered with the mouse wheel change. I wanted to make sure everyone knew that it is a bug, we have a fix internally and we'll be getting it out probably in the next test patch as soon as it passes QA.

Thanks for your patience and the great feedback.

- Kirstie
