Hello fellow Mystics,

I decided to reactivate my account and thought I would come on here to see what has changed before I really jump back into things.

I looked over a few posts and the other healer forums and seem to see something about melee as a Mystic being effective for DPS. I see that there are a number of abilities you can take that make a spell turn into a melee ability. Is this just to sacrifice range for having strength modify the damage instead of intelligence?

I am currently level 50 and that was all gained when the game was released for the most part.

What I am wondering is how I should invest all these abilities since I will be soloing quite often.

Currently I am just keeping the 2 dots up and using the DD all with the HO, shielding / healing and debuffing if needed depending on the mob level.

However I see we have a few new tricks to pick from, so should I be stacking some Strength and putting points somewhere to melee? Or perhaps just put a bit more into Intelligence and keep going how I am?

It's been a while so any advice is appreciated but for now I want to concentrade on mainly solo play from 50-80.

Also, does the spear use Strength to determine damage output or is it Agility?

Thank you.

First turn all casts into CA and get the endskill weapon mastery

I suggest to go the STR tree down all the way. Dogdog now is more solid and later, with ancestry, will proc at a good rate while doing some dps. With the priests stances you will get a pet stance/melee stance depending how you like to play. Personally i think dogdog is worth it overall.

Then agility for 8 points in Ancestral Authority and Ancestral spirits

By now you should be a pretty tough beast

Then fill the premonition tree and reach Ancestry

You are now unkillable and a healer god

Fill up for Ritual of Mind

At the end fill up as you wish and pick the best from shadows AA

Have fun

Engame setup depends on your gameplay. But the above is good to solo and good to do groups.

So you left before Desert of Flames. Allow me to give you the best advice you'll ever get:

Start over.

At L50, you've already missed a *ton* of potential AA in lower level zones. I know, 50 levels seems like a lot to give up, but think of it this way instead . . .

When you finally reach the "level" cap, you'll have 280 "levels". You're really not very far in, and I *promise* you that adventuring experience will flow *much* more quickly than you remember.

My Troubador went from Level 1 to L80 (with 130 AA) in 12 days /played. That's 12 days "actually" in game playing. Troubadors don't solo *nearly* as fast as a Mystic. You can probably do it a couple days faster on a Mystic, especially a "new" one who reaps all the rewards introduced in the lower levels.

Visit EQ2i . . . follow the solo quest lines and start over. You'll be glad you did. Not only will your character be stronger, sooner, you'll re-learn how to play the class in the process.

Thanks for the replies.

I went back and did a bunch of old quests that I had and bought a bunch of stuff off the broker to finish a bunch of collections and now I have 17 points.

So should I really start over still at this point? Or does that just mean I need to get a bunch of xp at level 80 to cap it out?

How many AA points would an average new char have at level 50?

AA points at lvl 50 would be about 60+ depending on how many quests you were doing. More aa if you quested a lot , less if you just farmed.

(Looged in and wanted to go to butcherblock and the game told me i dont have the expansion. When i opened my AA window it deleted all) CS was able to give back some, but not all.

Go mentoring or do grey quests and ask someone to allow you mentor him when handing in. You just have to mentor while handing in. I did that through the whole BB mountains and steamfont questlines. Since you have been away a while you probably will get disco fior all 20+,zones again. Mentor if groups look for a healer in crusbone keep or similar. If it doesnt bore you to tears, then do all crafter quests as well. Dont forget the languages You should be able to get AA quite fast that way. If you are in a guild and someone helps you to mentor ist easy to catch up.

Take it from someone who has five L80 characters . . . you'll get those AA a lot faster by starting over.
