View Full Version : Some unforseen problems with spell coonsolidation (broken scripts?)

Please let me forward this by saying this is hypothetical as the test server population is not large enough to test this.

In the process of spell consolidation for fighters we are loosing our choice for spell setup. Some (very few but some) mobs have scripts that relate to aggro control. When fighting these mobs I will turn off some buffs to let the script run properly and not get a fail condition. By putting my taunt procs in as part of my defensive stance I can no longer control those spell effects without turning off my defensive stance.

Could a possible solution be to have the existing spells modified to work like the Litany of Combat ability from the Priest Shadow tree in which when the user is in offensive stance they act in one manner and then when the user enters defensive stance they cancel the other effects and then operate in the "defensive manner".

This would allow us some flexibility in how we play in some non standard fights, and allow more freedom in scripting encounters to factor in our class abilities separately.

Again I have not been able to test the hate directly as there are not enough people on the test server to form a group so this is just pertaining to spell combinations and not the numbers represented by the individual spells themselves.
