Without any passiv Aggro Buff, Selfhealing becomes an even greater burden than before.

1. Warriors mitigate better, SK heal themselfs, doing damage and healing with one power usage.

Paladin has to use Abilties, to keep Aggro, which use Power, and selfheal, which again uses power.

Prayer of Amelioration (Groupheal) 365 Power

Holy Aid (Solo Heal) 192 Power

Prayer (Solo Ward) 179 Power

Sacrament of Bayle (Selfheal) 295 Power

Holy Touch (Emergency Heal) 473 Power

2. Aggro

For selfhealing, an Paladin has either to generate so much hate, that he has an comfortable advantage to his DD's or he can't afford selfhealing, which would make it questionable, why he has healing spells.As far as I know, beneficial spells don't profit from Hate-Gain, and 2 Points healing -> 1 Point Threat.

Here the Numbers with A3/M1 and Str. Endskill

Prayer, Castingtime 1,5 seconds, 1700 Ward -> 850 Threat -> 560 Threat/Second

Holy Aid, Castingtime 1,13 Second, 1600 Heal -> 800 Threat -> 530 Threat/Second

Sacrament of Bayle (Selfheal), 1,13 Seconds, 3200 Heal -> 1600 Threat -> 1415 Threat/Second

Holy Touch (Emergency Heal) Instant, 4700 Heal -> 2350 Threat

Prayer of Amelioration (Group Heal), 1300 Heal -> Honestly, I don't know the Group Heal Aggro calculation.

Healing eats up to much power, and generates not enough Threat. Needs an Taunt and Encounter Taunt component in double to triple the Healing numbers.

A use of Holy Aid has to do 530 TpS, + 3200 Taunt (+Taunt increase) -> 5000+ Threat per Second.

Or some other mechanism like an toggle buff for generating Aggro by healing.

Or better more DPS, as without Amend, there is no reason for the low Paladin DPS. Paladin has to move beyond all other Plate Tanks to compensate lack of Passiv buff.

You are correct. Our heals are a poor source of hate, and if we are to rely on them they need to generate more. This is a basic flaw in removing our passive aggro.

I hope to see the second revamp for fighters include the following for paladins:

1. Increased heals or percentage-based heals across the board.

2. Extra hate included in our basic single target heal and ward.

3. A stoneskin added to our Penitent heal line, and a better stoneskin added to our Lay on Hands line. Stoneskin abilities are the only way to make us truly comparable to Guardians in single target survivability.

Sad to say but the fact is if you let the mob lose aggro and it goes off and kills the rest of the group then you are the one that's going to get blamed. If you die they might insult your gear or they might blame the healer. If you get a reputation for not being able to hold aggro that's going to bite you a lot more when it comes to finding groups than if they just believe the healer in your group wasn't good enough to keep you up.
