I thought about posting this in one of the Brawler threads but I feel this deserves its own thread since it affects all tanks, but moreso Brawlers.

Removing the max number of targets restriction from our pitiful AEs is about the least that can be done to help single target tanks, especially Brawlers. Tanking a zone like Outer Stronghold with the two "events" as a Brawler is next to impossible without a Chanter. If the Chanter's mez resists on an entire encounter, and it just did two separate times tonight alone, things get hairy quick with a Monk tanking. I can only taunt one of the encounters, and with how often taunts get resisted some mobs within that encounter still had little aggro from me, but the entire other encounter was loose for 20 seconds until my AE taunt refreshed.

All I could do was use all of my AoEs and hope that it hit mobs in the other encounter for residual hate on the entire encounter. With residual hate going away I won't even be able to rely on that anymore since the only mob(s) I damage are the ones that will aggro me. This will still leave the rest of the mobs with absolutely no hate on them until I can wait 20 seconds for my ae taunt to refresh. That is far too long to wait to get any reliable hate on the second encounter.

Above and beyond that it's kind of ridiculous that the only legitimate way of doing a zone like Outer Stronghold for a single target tank is to have a Chanter present. Well at least for a Monk it's extremely difficult without a Chanter.

In general this would also help for those times that you get a second encounter adding on you.

Removing the max number of targets on AoEs will not infringe on the true AoE dps classes nor the AE tanks, but it will definitely help at least some especially now that we have a taunt component on one of our AEs. Our AoE's don't hit hard enough nor refresh fast enough for there to be any legitimate reason for not removing the max number of targets.

Also, quite specifically the Monk spell Dragonfire needs to be fixed. It is long overdue to make this an actual CA that is affected by melee buffs instead of a spell affected by intelligence. Also the damage on it needs to be upped and the frontal arc restriction done away with.
