I'm looking for information on the Nightsong Opera House if anyone can help. How long has it been there? Why isn't it in use anymore? Was it ever in use? Any history on it?

Any information would be wonderful! Thanks in advance!

That's the Scout guild in Neriak, right?

It didn't exist in Neriak back in EQlive, so it has no history behind it.

The scout trainers are there, as well as a number of vampires, but when you talk to the gent behind the desk it's sadly the same story every week, there is not a performance and the hall is completely empty. Several people on our server that I have spoken too said that they heard there were bodies found behind the hall and it was closed by the Queen for further investigation.

The brigand and assassin trainers are in the hall of the ebon mask, which did exist in EQL as the rogue guild. As to the opera house, it is by the castle, which is an area you could not get to in EQL so it is unknown how long this place has been around. As far as I know, there is no history behind it either. The only thing I know about any of the NPCs within it is that J'Xon near Madam Gael is a Thexian that you kill when switching citizenship to Neriak. I wouldn't say the place is not in use. There are several NPCs around, unlike other closed buildings in the game. (Think the hall of thunder before it was turned into a guild hall.) It's probably more of a game mechanic than anything. I mean, you never see the pit of death getting any use, but that doesn't mean the overlord has it closed.

The Opera House i think is still in use, why else would a ticket booth operator NPC be there, just as an in-game mechanic no shows or plays are ever shown for players.

If I remember right, theres a few NPCs there aside from Madam Gael or the thexian you kill for the betrayal from Freeport to Neriak. There's at least one other named Teir`Dal that is near her and the vampires in the same area are i assume actors/actressses, as one of them has the title "The Fool" which would make me think he would be the Opera Jester, for entertainment purposes.

On a side note, someone speak to Domino and see if its possible to place house items on the "Stage" of the Opera House.. so players can hold plays or operas, my RP guild would love that.... .oh and instruments... where the heck did those get to?

I can't say that the Opera House goes completely unused... I have used it for Monologue performances, proclaiming the glories of being Teir'Dal as well as holding symposiums on several archeological expedititions and the tings I've found within some of the ruins and tombs and tunnels I have roamed.

Alas, I'm normally the only one there when I'm performing... unless you count the presence of my minion Boney Chaerly. He's not much of a speaker, really, but he seems to giggle during inappropriate times it seems. Might be a nervous condition.. hmmm. I may have to look into that.

Judging from the people inside the place, I would assume it is a new fixture due to the arrival of the vampires in Neriak.

Most vampires in game seem to have that taste in musical style, especially when we look at Mayong's "refined" taste in decor, style, and the arts.
