Hello everyone.

Since its a bad idea (tm) to direct posts at devs Im going to speak out in a generic manner to noone in particular.

I dont mind this revamp of tanking per se. I have not yet gotten my toon copied to test so I havent been able to test it thus I shut up until I know what Im speaking about.

On the matter of PvP though, this is a whole different cookie. Tanks are pretty balanced in pvp. After this change hey with either have substantially lower dps or survivability. Each of those will make the tanks be completely out of balance for pvp. So, please kick a pvp test server up so we at least can assess the damages before we get them shoved down our throats?

Yes and while we are at it please get a look at the threat componment in pvp. They are basically inexistant for SK.

For a class that is supposed to be an agro monster none of our skills beside the basic taunt work in pvp whereas it does normally for all other tanks.

disclaimer : don't bash sk on solo pvp plz and remmeber that the sk you see on nagafen are the one that endured years of nerf and were still playing heavy and gearing heavely. Now ofc trakanon geared sk are uber in pvp...

The argument remain valid though, all our agro group tools are disabled in pvp for no real reason.

Tanks were not balanced in PVP before in group PVP (where taunts are primarily needed) at all.Basically, Guardian and Paladin where gods of group PVP.All the rest were not doing well at all.Are you calling this balance?

I don't think they really pay much attention to weather or not changes affect PvP.

Pushing it completely untested is a rather unwise move.

I agree to an extent Ulvhamne, if the De-hate works in PVP while in O Stance then tanks should find it as an overall buff in solo PVP. As for grouping they will need to simply worry about keeping others locked on them.

And we all know how well sks are off with taunts (and now, by extent, detaunts I guess) as far as pvp goes. I wouldnt be surprised if the detaunts wont work in pvp. Which is sortof one reason I want it to be tested.

I definitely agree. I wish I could test it. As far as the stances themselves are concerned they seem rather good. And taunts have all been made into basically rescues so lol. You could for PVE. or even PVP. Try stance dancing even more. IE Taunt with 2 taunts, switch to offensive, burn through your CAs, switch back to Defensive taunt etc. I do that as it is now so the change doesn't seem that bad.

One thing I wonder is why they added the -0.5% to damage output while in defensive. They didn't increase the overall effectiveness of the stances all that much so I don't see why that was needed. As for the increased damage (incoming hehe) in offensive stance is silly. They should make it much lower or remove it all together.

As a life long PvPer, i never thought i would say this, but right now, pvp balance is the least of our worries.
