I was testing out the hate meter and discovered that it only registers hate when you are meleeing the mob. When i rooted the mob and cast damage spells from range the hate meter dropped completely and showed no value. The target window also lost the red hate line.

I would like a way to remove it from cluttering my screen.

Just type alt+T and it removes the meter. You still will get the red line in your target window, but only when meleeing. So casters are out of luck atm.

If you were duoing with somebody and that person was next to the mob, they would be at the top of the hate list, and you would have 0 hate because they would never be able to hit you so they ignore you if they can't move to you. Once the root breaks, you would be back at 100 hate beacuse they could move to you. This is not a problem with the hate meter, but rather the way the hate mechanics have always worked with rooted mobs.

If the inherent hate mechanics are so inadequate, then the hate meter is going to be all but useless. Only a small portion of players will even see a benefit from this.

The latest patch fixed the hate meter. It is now registering hate when casting from range. I only tested it solo - so it showed 100%.
