Hey all i had a previous post about some ui settings and everyone was very helpful so here is another scenario hoep i explain it correctly.

Like mosty people i have more than 1 toon, but i am running into a problem with alternate keys and hot buttons changing on all toons not just the one i am playing.

For Example:

On my swashy i have alt 1 also mapped to my pause/break key

On my warlock i have something in alt 1 i dont need mapped so i make pause/break lets say mapped to alt 4

when I switch back to my swashy pause/break is now mapped to alt 4 not alt 1.

Now I know some people are going to say just move your ca's for spells around so they match up across all toons. Well to me atleast that isnt practical.

When my alts were created the first time i logged in get the message to choose which ui i would like to import if any. Could this be the problem? I am not sure what else to do. I have tried the save load options hoping that it would load different sets of hotkeys but that did not see to work either.

Any suggestions?

I believe its because key mappings are set per account/machine (I think its actually per installation, but since I dont have more than one account I cant be sure), not per character.

You could set up different options (and save the different options), and just swap between them when you change characters (though I could see this getting quite annoying very quick, since loading different options files can be a little slow, and would have to be done each time you swapped characters).

Key Mapping is stored on the account level. If I log my account on my friend's machine it moves my keybinds over.

I think it would be nice to have at character level, however I do also appreciate the fact that if I log onto another machine I don't have to spend 45 minutes remapping my keys

yes when i log onto another machine the icons are on the bars but... if you hit alt o and go to the hotbuttons section the secondary key like alt 4 is also insert.

if i log onto an alt and change alt 4 to delete then log back on my main alt is delete instead of insert like i had it
