i remember playing the first EQ at my buddy's house and thought it was quite interesting, the class i chose at random...the Paladin. I was able to fight, heal, and pretty much fit really easily into any group, and i only played for about an hour. a few years later i finally got my own PC and when EQ2 came out i bought it cuz i remembered how much fun it was and i already knew which class i was going to roll.

i jumped into EQ2 back when we Paladin's had to start off as Fighters, then went to Crusaders, and then we became something most other EQ2 players admired... The tried and true, utility fighter... the Paladin. when it came to finding groups, it was as easy as finding trash mobs; sure we never were the best at anything but we fill any roll with ease if the need arose...

...then i stopped playing for a few years, and recently came back started everything back up, then went to a PvP server where all spend all my playing time. the first new i noticed were all these new moves and these things called aa's ... and when i really got playing, the other things i noticed was that my DPS took a S**T and seemingly so did my survivability! ok... fine... rather then re-rolling immediately, i decided to roll with it and see what these aa's bring to the table. after seeing they brought much needed buffage i decided the Pally was still cool afterall...

well, after playing for only like 2 1/2 months, i started hearing about all these new changes around GU51 and how they affect the Paladin class... i was blown away... so they wanna nerf amends... fine... what will u give us in return... another crappy taunt huh? Amends is something we've been enjoying in some form for years to make up for our lack of everything else; literally what your doing is this: taking some kids toy sword hes been enjoying for a long time, giving him a stick, and telling him "look, just swing it around, it's almost the same"... NO, ITS NOT!

and on top o' that they wanna make us single target tanks when we have no way of supporting such a role... hmmm?

but enough complaining... how 'bout a solution... well if u wanna make us Paladin's shine without outshining, u have to make us slightly above average on DPS, survivability, and healing... to make things plain and simple on a 1 - 5 scale, make us 3 - 3.5 on everything, 4 for 'masters' at the very most for the purpose of balancing, this way we can still be the jack-of-all-trades utility fighter, without being too overpowered in any given area, this is how a Paladin is supposed to be structured so as to give us the ability to be able to fill in any role needed if no other in that area were avaible... as it is were right 1.5 - 2 in all areas and that just is not effective to do much of anything therefore making our class more of a space filler then an actual utility-fighter.

well theres my 2... actually this more like 4 cents LoL... on this matter, hopefully this will make some contemplate on this matter. peace.
