Weapon Question

<p>So I decided to try the melee lines and see what all the fuss whas about <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>I got one of these: <a href="http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Blackened_Steel_Poleaxe" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Blackened_Steel_Poleaxe</a> and have some questions. (Yeah, I know it's not top gear and all, but I a curious about something).</p><p>It says it si slashing damage, but I don't see slashing as a skill in persona. Someone mentioned that it oddly takes on crushing or piercing, depending on what's highest, but I tested it on a training dummy and the auto-attack didn't to any damage at all.</p><p>Any help is appreciated <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<p>Ahh we see this as monks quite often. It <em>deals</em> slashing damage, but uses your normal weapon skill (crushing as a mystic?) to determine hits etc.</p><p>You won't see any slashing skill ups using it, by if you look on ACT you will see that your damage is slashing</p>

<p>You do not have a slashing skill.  You will therefore find it very difficult indeed to actually hit anything with this weapon.  You cannot skill up slashing since you don't have that skill to begin with.</p><p>My guess is that Mystic / Defiler on that weapon is a mistake.</p>
