View Full Version : Any chance to make 50s master drop 30%ish smart ?

I love the new change to the drop rate in Dof. Now there at least some chance I will get my old masters. Trying to farm the ones i need is still almost impossible. It would be nice if they dropped a little smart 30%ish. The RNG can be a cruel mistress when you are trying to get a single master out of about 250 possible. ( 55-60 times 24 times about 2 master per class)

or just make them purchasable from a random quest or trainer..

smart loot at any % opens it up to manipulation.

I wouldn't worry about it. With the current drop rate, all T6 masters will be up for sale in large numbers for < 5p in about 10 days - 2 weeks.

nope, i could just imagine doing smart loot that someone would hoarde like 100 percussion of stone M1's listing them one at a time. people still have to earn them the old fashioned way, through the RNG. if you're not lucky, sell yours and buy the one you need, simple enough.

If the price was anywhere near reasonable i would not have an issue.

if you have a problem with it then go farm the masters, sell the rare ones you do come across and buy the one you need, simple.

hour for hour, that is the easiest method to get what you want.

Almost everyone farming T6 masters is doing so in areas in which 52 - 56 masters drop, so the supply of level 58s is still low.

When people wake up to that fact, expect level 58 masters to be for sale at < 50p for anything.

Why just don't the masters being still needed on level 80 keep dropping in higher tiers? Non-replaced T6 masters drop in T7 and T8 just like T7 and T8 masters (and also the level 35 bloodline spell - how many people own it - 0.1% ?)

But i dont see it anytime in the near future. The issue I have is 80s needing low level spells is a broken mechanism. This was brought up at the last fanfair. Making 50s spell drop more helps, but is a cop out to the real issue. This change opens the system up more for farmers than regular players.

Making it slightly smart will limit how much farmers can charge, as the spells will be attainable in a reasonable amount of time by the player himself if they so desire. Currently, even with the high drop rates the chance of getting the spell you need is futile. I know I have tried to the tune of 30+ hours of farming.

I dont see that abusing makes any difference, in the long run the price will be set by how hard it is to get. So a farmer getting a bunch of needed spells will only drive down from the crazy prices we currently see. Plus the current system is setup to abuse/overcharge the regular player, how is that a good system?

Masters drop smart for lower levels spells already. I just think they need to up the level and make it not 100% smart like RE2.

With all the masters droping you are likely to get a drop from another class which you could trade for the one that you want.

Masters are overrated. Some are necessary, but most are overrated. Just get your Adept III's and the masters will come eventually.
