Today a guildee asked me, a higher level Paladin, what subjugation was for.

After several hours of scouring my Knowledge book, examining spells and CAs, asking in level chats, and trying to noodle it out on our own, I couldn't find anything that related to that skill.

Now, the odd thing is this: guildee has the skill at 5. My husband's Paladin, L80, is also 5. Guildee's SK has it at 5.

Pheep's is 100.

O_o

The only difference between my Paladin and the other three Crusaders is that mine is old school, from launch, waaaay back when. The other three are of the new progression, mine was Fighter to Crusader to SK/Paladin. I betrayed her at L16 to Qeynos.

So...I'm guessing subjugation was for the SK pet, and when a Pally betrayed that skill is used but is left unused as a Pally.

But what confuses me is why Pheep's is at 100, but my husband's L80's subjugation is only 5.

Thanks in advance and happy holidaze!

Funny you should bring this up, as I just noticed the same thing a few days ago, and my subjugation skill is also 100. I started from launch, so I followed the same Fighter to Crusader to SK/Paladin progression as you. However, I have always been a paladin, so I'd say it can't be from casting a pet. Obviously, it's something from way back in the day that got changed. It's not much help answer-wise, just wanted to point out the similarities and the one difference.

It has been a looooong time since i saw this type of post, but if memory serves me right the subjugation skill was raised by a "crusader" spell we use to use back when we shared the crusader progression of level 10-19 on the spells with the shadowknights. That is why you see a cap of 100 on the skill as the spell capped out at level 20 and level 20 X 5 skill points equals 100 skill. The original spell name escapes me, i might have the name buried in old printouts i probably have laying around the house...

TSO, candle from befallen, used to summon a pet to help you get a quest done. I think it uses it. aslo, maybe the shard of fear? (Summons two pets to aid the caster in defense). Nan
