Sorry to spam, but this is entirely unrelated to my other post regarding zones..

Just come back after a long while away. When I stopped playing I was unarmed. I just respecced STR and got 'Chi' and I think I should be able to improve my DPS by wielding weapons. Should I just buy (or skillup my Woodworker) and obtain pristine imbued (rare wood) batons etc, or is there a decent weapon(s) I can quest or solo/duo a named mob to get a drop.

Would I be better to level up to 60 (for example) and then buy best crafted (or go hunt / quest a particular item)?

I just don't want to blow all my cash (about 2 plat maybe) on weapons, then find theres a quest one or easy drop, that I could get in a couple of levels, or even a couple of levels ago.

I did search to see if I could find details of weapons at this level, but most of the item threads seem to relate to level capped people, and as you can see I am lagging behind somewhat!

Thanks in advance.

Apologies. Just found this thread:

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...?topic_id=89629

Which has a ton of Fabled/Legendary stuff, so unless theres some good stuff you know about which isn't on there, please ignore my question! There may well be some new stuff however as that seems to be quite an old post.

Most of that stuff will require a full group or a small raid to unpopular places now that there is 80 levels in the game. Your best bet now is to head over to the Frostfell instance in your home city and do the Icy Keep questline. Try and get into a group and do it on hard if you can. You gain tokens which can be spent at a vendor which gives legendary weapons and armor. The armor isn't too good for brawlers, but there is a nice legendary fistwraps and two-handed hammer.

Thanks. I took your advice and checked out Frostfell. That's working very well for me as far as gathering tokens, twelve so far, which is enough to get one of the level 52 fistwraps. I just posted on the Items forum asking when the goblins list changes to the new tier, as I am nearly level 59. I was thinking I could get a level or three before Jan 6th if it means I can get level 62 Fistwraps as these would server me much longer.

I was wondering how I work out what my current unarmed dps is, if that's possible? I typed /weapons and it told me a delay and a base min/max damage and I believe an actual damage (which I guess is adjusted for my skills and STR etc). Is there a calculation to convert these into a DPS or am I just being dense?

Or should I just find a dps parser? Can anyone recommend one? I am not sure if the results from the parser would directly compare to what the Goblin is showing me anyway as I wouldn't think that would reflect my skills and str etc. in the quoted dps (56 dps I believe on the level 52 Fistwraps) before I buy it. Worst case I could parse dps with and without my weapons after I buy them I guess!

Thanks again for the welcome back and helpful advice.

I know you can see your dps number in your PErsonal section of your character.

Oh I didn't look there, I shall!

I downloaded a log parser (Advanced Combat Tracker) and it is parsing averages for me unarmed at level 58 of about 221 dps with peaks at 400dps, I didn't think it was going to be that high but maybe I have some Devestation Fist strikes mixed in there throwing the results off. Best thing will be to get the Legendary weapons and retry and as long as it's higher I will be happy. I am getting XP while grabbing the Tokens too anyway.

Cheers.

Doh. I missed the fact the fistwraps are LORE. So I need to either buy another 1hand to supplement the one I have got, or go back and get the 2hander and stick this 1hander in the bank/bin.

Ah well, at least it was only some time grinding Icy keep solo and not all my money! I actually bought a fair amount of the armour too, the T7 rare leather seems to go for 2plat+ a pop so this will tide me over for a bit, I just hope I don't fight much with anything other than cold or melee attacks lol.
