My heal crit is at 59% self buffed with no pots/temps. My heal amt is at 445. What heal crit do I need to start working on heal amt? How much heal crit can I lose to gain heal amt? With no raid gear and mainly shard gear whats the least amount of heal crit I need to heal TSO instances? I guess I just need to start reducing heal crit until epic doesn't proc enough, any other suggestions?

Other way around. I want more heal crit than I do heal amount - and I want the best quality spells I can possibly afford or find/get in drops.

I spoke with a Warden on my server a few nights ago and she was up to over 1k on heal amount. Now I'm not sure how her heal crit was but I'd imagine it wasn't too bad. We need heal crit for our mana replenishment. I'm thinking that even 30% would be enough to keep me at full energy. I think my M1 Tide of healing does close to 1800 heal. Crit would be 2340 on the highest amount. So if I had 1k heal amount gear and absolutely no heal crit gear it would heal at 2800.

Now since the heal crit is just for the epic mana proc (as well as the 30% extra heal) then why don't we focus more on heal amount and just have the least amount of heal crit to keep us up during named fights?

I don't do math ... crunching numbers gives me hives, so I hope that someone that DOES do math will respond in a scientific manner to you.

What I know is: I heal better when my heal crit is high vs. when my heal amount is. Being relatively clueless as to the workings of my class (I'm sort of a warden savant...), I know that when I had a bunch of +heal items, I did not heal as well as if I have more heal crit.

I'm sorry I can't give you numbers...LOL. But this is my patented "Seems Like" method of Wardening

haha that makes me laugh Arielle! When you had all your +heal amt gear did you also have a decent amount of heal crit gear? Was your + heal amount a very large number like 1k? Was this "seems like" method before TSO's heal crit AA we get?

I suppose there needs to be a training dummy that we can test our heals on in the guild hall thats similar to the training dps dummy. Then you could break out in hives, crunch numbers, and test the heals with heal gear vs heal crit gear.

Oh..my "Seems Like" method has been the way I've dealt with it since launch ::grin::

I had more +heal gear than crit gear there for a while - and although I healed well, it "Seems Like" (tm) now that I have more crit (65% unbuffed (by group or raid) ), I'm healing better in groups. Raids still have the same problem as ever: Wards and Reactives don't often let me get a heal in edgewise - but in situations where I can, heal crit seems to be the better choice.

This is kind of spanning both RoK and ToS, though - but I have more heal crit now (with ToS) than I did with RoK. AA's have made a difference, but I am not into the Warden Shadow's line yet, so I just have the generic ones everyone else has.

I'd love to hear from a Number Crunching Warden that can actually answer this though ..LOL

Not number crunching, but from a common sense point of view, Heal amount affects the first tick of a heal only, heal crit affects all ticks of the heal, so for our regen? heal crit is certainly the way forward, and since you should be keeping regen up, and group regen, majority of your healing is done by regen (in a group situation) Either way, a high heal crit normally denotes a high heal amount by the time your well equiped, so it's rarely a worry.

There you go. Heal crit affects everything, heal amount is only the first tick. I KNEW there was something!!

Ty Nebb

No problem Arielle it's always good to know your right for a reason, even if you weren't sure of the reason Incidently, does the fact your still around mean you still love the class, and that your enjoying the game and NOT leaving us?

It does I didnt' want to leave, but it was getting increasingly hard to log in and very UnFun. I have found a great guild where I'm really happy - that values a Warden's contribution. I do still like the game

So now it's Fun again! yay!

I assume you mean for raids right? Because as a warden i find even PuG appreciate my contribution as a warden Joined a group going to guk halls of the fallen looking for a solo healer, i was nervous, and more than a little tired, but i'm going to have to say it was some of the most fun i've had in a while, even if the agro [Removed for Content] died a few times. That and that damned noxious drove me insane, it's like the original CoA but worse, atleast i had the group cure for CoA!

We just leave that dot on...it doesn't do much damage, and saves you from carpal tunnel. I cure it off the tank and thats' about it. Even the guy that HAS the group cure says 'f it.." and doesn't. It's stupid, tbh.

The problem I was seeing being a warden is: The groups I was not able to get. The problem was people that raided were doing the zones I needed. They didn't want a warden because they know we don't buff anything. All healers being equal (in most cases) about being kept alive, they wanted one that buffed them in some way.

And that's not us.

Just needed to change scenery and get with some people that were a little less l33tist and more playing the game well. That's all it took

Change server Arielle i swear reading these forums, that the community on most servers must suck. Our "hardcore" raiders don't care that the warden doesn't give them the buffs, they care that we're decent healers and wont kill the group, and that we're available right that second and they can stop fidgeting and start laying waste That and the tanks love instinct (if i let them have it muhahah). Nothing i've read in your posts indicates your a bad healer in any way, on my server you'd probably have people sending you tells asking you to heal for them. Thats a result of playing PuGs and helping people who ask for it, and them realising i'm a decent healer and thats far more a desired commodity than any buffs if you dont know who it is. Plus it'd be cool to have you on the server even if you would steal groups from under my feet!

Err, wardens don't have buffs? I have to admit this is the only heal class I have played so far but everytime I die it seems like my next 10 minutes are spent rebuffing..

We dont mean that wardens lack buffs in general Static, just that the buffs aren't desired compared to the other priests, and yes, 10 minutes to buff. I used to swear at my group when they'd start running off and i hadn't finished buffing, but look on the bright side, they made SoW group wide finally, and spores/the DS/instinct line are no longer castable on as many people as you like. Imagine what you do now, but add in an extra 69 casts on a raid, or 92 if they all wanted SoW aswell and you felt like doing it for everyone.

Dont worry Arielle. Its comming this way.

I hate raids since freethinkers hideout. I want to press some buttons and not watch my disabled hotbars while wards and reactives are ticking. I do have a mystic as well. But nothing compares to a warden that is allowed to pump the zone full of HP. I have fond memories where cure and mana effective healing was an art.

They (SOE) cant continue witht hte aggro management like it is. Tacking the mob with hate transfer onto the tank and burn it (well, as long as your hotbars are not disabled) will change soon enough. I predict changes where it is needed again to actually.. uhm.. heal.
