I'm creating a new topic for the same quest name as the other topic is about a different issue.

#1 --

Quest is as follows: (from eq2wiki)

Use the received attuning rod to attune them to the different types of magic found within Miragul's Phylactery: Scion of Ice

The essence of destructive magic

The magic used to overbear opponents

The essence of empowering magic

Any essence of aiding magic

Destroy 5 of the errant magics within Scion of Ice

Step 2 is new. Howerver it is not possible to complete, as no mobs in the zone update the quest.

also mentioned http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...438834and http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...=436391#4892625

#2 --

Did anyone change the hp on these mobs?

I only had ACT running for a few mobs but over all it seemed the 3up's were easy and the 2ups were hard...

Arcanus reported only 73672 dmg taken

a malicious manifest had 112066 dmg taken

a forsaken reminiscence had 95238 dmg taken

--

Thanks

Mins

This is the responsefrom from a in game GM

Greetings Pestelence, This is GM Vulkarn of Sony Online Entertainment In-Game Support responding to your petition. I understand you are having issues with The Same Wavelength. I believe the quest is working as it was designed and that destroying the errant magics is not a kill. You may want to investigate the zone further.Thank you for your petition and should you have any issues in the future please feel free to petition them as well.Regards,GM VulkarnEverQuest IISony Online Entertainment

Umm I left nothing in the zone standing. Everything was dead and nothing was able to be clicked. I even went on another character and right clicked every mob before killing it.

NOTHING UPDATED IT.

Quest is broken!

My group is having the same issue. The zone is clear. We spent an hour looking for anything that is clickable or targetable. We found nothing in any of the rooms. The icons for the updates are skull-and-crossbones so I believe the GM was mistaken. In fact, I think I did this quest on another character a week or so ago and got updates from killing the ice elementals.

Same here. /bugged it as well and posted about it in the Deep Forge thread. It's undoubtedly another fix for preventing the usage of cleared zones for additional shards that has gone awry. But hey, like someone else said ... I sure was glad no one was able to use the instance after to get a free shard.

Guessing the GM didn't know the quest had been changed, and was assuming you were referring to the other clickies. I did this quest a week or so ago and there wasn't anything about "errant magics" then. Just the clickies.

I finished this quest this morning but this was BEFORE the servers came down for updates.

There are several statue-looking things in the zone (they look like the guild hall 'call to guild hall' statues). You just place your mouse over them and do ONE of the following: double click your mouse or right click and select the option to attune or press the 'F' key to get the update.

Only one person got the update but the statues repop at a fast rate. I just waited to do mine until we had the entire zone clear and everyone else got their updates. Then I just ran through the empty zone quickly and got mine.

There is nothing you need to equip or kill to complete this quest.

But then again, we completed this quest BEFORE the servers came down this morning. So I am assuming they have changed it now and it is broken.

Seems like these things are not even being remotely tested before throwing it back into the game... We have a few outright broken shard quests now .. How many more do we need to find and put up with along the way ?

The versions of these quests that went live with TSO worked, it's the new-and-improved-stop-reusing-cleared-instances versions that don't.

I didn't test any on beta either. So if they were buggy at launch that would have been our fault.

Second Boss in Anchor still does not drop chests if beaten according to script... Also Recently Ran into a bugged General In Kor Sha... and there will be still more ..

These Shard Quests from beta went into live working. The quests that are now here, are not ones from beta. but this is blind stackenly Obviouse.... So why was beta brought up again ?

We got the quest to touch the statues...that was ALL the quest said. I assume we got the quest this way because we did the instance BEFORE the servers came down for an update. We completed the quest, I assure you. I got one shard from the chest inside and one shard from the NPC outside.

It seems that after they pulled the servers down for updates, the quest changed and more was added? He wouldn't offer me the quest again to see since I had all ready done it that morning.

It was working for us when we did the quest before the servers came down though.

It's still broken, it was the daily quest for saturday I think. There are no errant magics to kill.

To you two arguing about when it stoped working - stop that - it is not productive. The quest IS broken NOW, arguing over if it worked in the past is null. I don't care if it worked in the past - it's broken currently and thats what the post was about.

And soe is on vacation so it will be weeks before we hear anything anyways ...
