Hi I just came back from over 2 years away and I definitely noticed a lot of changes, but when I was browsing the forums for info on AA builds and paths most I found were threads that were several months old...

I was just wondering which route is more DPS-oriented faster levling, melee focused or spell focused? I mainly was wondering which Traits and Master 2s to take. I figure my first AA path will be one of the ones in the Druid tree of course.

Thanks in advance. ^^

Hello its been 6 days and you've had no reply which sucks, so here, have an (probably) inept reply

Disclaimer - My 'build' is based on my playstyle - Firstly I'm on PvP which could make a big difference to your choices. I play a mixture of group, duo and solo - I like flexibility, so if you plan to be the sole healer for a group you might want to choose a different path ...

Icy2k9 wrote:

Hi I just came back from over 2 years away and I definitely noticed a lot of changes, but when I was browsing the forums for info on AA builds and paths most I found were threads that were several months old...

I was just wondering which route is more DPS-oriented faster levling, melee focused or spell focused?

For a Fury? Spell focused all the way - Our melee skills are virtually non-existant, so I carry a wand rather than a proper weapon for the bonuses

I mainly was wondering which Traits and Master 2s to take.

Well I'll tell you what I chose: t2: Twirl, t3: Strike of Thunder, t4: Starburst, t5: I'm going to pick Wild Bloodflow. I guess your choices here are a matter of playstyle - I like to group and also solo, so need the DPS which is why I chose the attack spells. Strike of thunder is our signature spell and at level 24 with it as Master 2 you can put out almost as much damage as the infamous harms touch, but without the 5 minute recast timer.

I figure my first AA path will be one of the ones in the Druid tree of course.

Actually I spent 1 point in my druid tree only, for shapeshift. I could see a lot more benefits on the fury tree early on and chose (in this order, and the reasons why): 1 x shapeshift(handy perma-buff)3 x stinging insects(one of your main spells early on)3 x Squall(main spell early on)3 x Natural Mask(improves your health regen buff, and leads on to peerless predator)5 x Peerless Predator(Get this as soon as you hit level 20, and enjoy massive runspeed buff making you one of the fastest things in norrath)5 x Strike of Thunder(With this spell as Master II with 5AA's at level 24 you will totally own)ok from here on my choices are geared towards PvP DPS only5 x Starburst(This and Strike of Thunder are my 2 main spells, both Master II and full AA's)4 x Ring of Fire(I can't even use this spell for another 10+ levels, but I wanted to spend points in energy so I could get.................)1 x Energy Vortex(Oh yes, click this button and watch as you put out massive DPS - Since I got this I can almost match a same level wizard for DPS, and am enjoying a golden moment in my PvP career)5 x Enveloping Roots(I had this earlier, then respecced for E.V, and have since put points back in - Your root is very useful, but as I was often grouped with a wiz who had much better root than me I decided to use my points elsewhere)4 x Serenecist Stamina(My Fury Tree looks good, so I've started on Druid tree now)1 x Serene Symbol(Thats it, where I'm up to - I am going to complete the stamina line and make myself immune to stun effects, then decide whats next...)

Thanks in advance. ^^

Well this post may or may not have been useful to you! My playing on PvP is the biggest point of note as it will really affect your choices, if you are on PvE I wouldn't bother with Peerless Predator as it works differently in PvE

ps I'm by no means an expert, far from it! But I am enjoying being very successful at the moment with this build. Good luck choosing, and remember you can always respec easily
