<p>Does anyone have a benchmark for weighing heal crit vs. +heal amount when comparing gear?  I'm asking here because wards get less benefit from heal crit than other types of heals do.  I apologize if that has already been addressed, I didn't find it.</p>

<p>After posting this I decided to try to calculate it myself, heh.  With no +heal gear on my ST ward is 2310 and my group ward is 3854.  My group ward crits for 4432 (15%).  This is an increase of 578.  My ST ward crits for 2773 (20%) because I have 5 points in Prophetic Spirit (shaman line of the Shadow AA tree).  This is an increase of 463.  If +1 heal crit increases my chance of critting by 1%, then +1 heal crit would be equivalent to +5.78 heal on the group ward and +4.63 heal on the ST ward.</p><p>Am I thinking about this correctly?  If so, then heal crit is just crazy weak.  All else being equal on a piece of gear:</p><p>+1 heal crit = +5 heal amount</p><p>assuming most of my healing comes from wards, which is does.</p><p>Please, someone let me know if I am thinking about this correctly or if I am way off base.</p>

<p>Ok, last time responding to myself <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>It looks like +heal is counted as part of the base ward amount when calculating crit, which for some reason I didn't think it was.  With all my regular gear on (760 heal mod), critting improves my ST ward by 676 and my group ward by 739.  This doesn't really change much though...that means +1 heal crit is roughly equivalent to +7 heal amount.  In addition, it values +heal even a little more in that the more +heal you have, the more beneficial heal crit is.</p>

<p>You're going to start hitting +Heal caps around 1000.  With the Mythical weapon, 1000 becomes crazy easy to hit since 30% of your Wisdom is added to Wards as +Heal.</p><p>At that point, your only option is +Crit.  Right now, my +Heal is sitting around 1100 with a Crit of around 55% solo.  Usually a Bard or something puts me over 60%.</p><p>Once you give up on Overloaded Heal, getting +Heal really high isn't that hard.</p>

<p>Thanks for your response.  I did not realize the heal bonus from the mythical based on WIS counts toward +heal, and it doesn't show up on the heal mod on profit.  I try to have my WIS at 1220 on raids, which gives me +366 heal right there.  Am I correct in understanding that the heal mod cap for wards is just half the size of the ward?  Any idea if that is calculated before or after the new Prophetic Spirit AA?  Either way, I guess I'm basically already there, for the ST ward anyway.  Thanks again.</p>

<p>It shows up as +Heal to Wards only!  That's important!  And no, Profit doesn't display it.  It's sort of like Beneficial Alacrity . . . Profit doesn't show it as Spell Haste because it doesn't apply to all spells.</p><p>For me, the difference was not as relevant, because I so rarely use my actual "Heals".  However, it's important that you remember it since the UI doesn't really track this very well.</p>
