I can't really decide how to fight a healer....I've only come up against one and I just ran out of power eventually and he killed me. Is it best to try to outlast them or just burn them down or what? Any tips are greatly appreciated. I am currently speced 448 int and reaver and 41 agi (which will go towards sta when i get further) and im starting down sta.

Hi matney,

well whenever i encounter an healer i usually try to burn him as fast as possible (although i do that with almost any mob ...) but to counter his healing what i do is wait till i see him start the spell, then i'd stun him with shield bash or kick so that his attempt is cancelled. Often you can then use a few other spells and when he starts again use the other stun you havent used yet (at least if your using shield you have two stuns which is usefull in this case). As for your AA well dont really see anything that would change it got the int and reaver too so not much different there.

Stuns for the win ... but euh to be honest i still burn them down faster then they can heal atm

how I fight them depends a bit on what class they are. If its a healer class that doesnt power regen much, like mystic, fury or templar I might try to drain their power. furies can hurt a bit and are generally squishy so I just burn them down most of the time. Inquisitors tend to be annoying buggers to fight if they use their punishments and debuffs, they can also play in such a way that they wont ever go oop ina 1 on 1, so you generally just have to get them low enough for HT to kill them flat out. like 20-30%.

Wardens can have endless amounts of power if they went that way, and dont take a beating too well so I just steamroll them. Same with defilers, only I try to space my knockbacks well, and use my doom judgement line to rip their wards down.

If your fighting a healer, unless you have alot better gear than them you will need to burn them OP. You can just mele them power tap and cast your mele reactive to do so.

If not you can just start some slow dps and when they allow you to get them to 75% put the full burn on, at that point Doom them and strip any heals they have going and burn to 35-40 at that point finish them HT.

If that doesnt work rinse and repeat till it does

You wont be able to run a warden out of Power so you must catch them slippn and spike them out with there E-heals down or stripped.

Just remember to save as much power as you can and allow your reactive and autoattack to do most of the work, most good healers will cure your power tap but you should still cast it.

depending on your race you should have 3-4 stuns/knockdowns. If you time those correctly you can keep the healer pretty well locked down. Long enough to at least get them low enough for HT. If they dont have that great of gear you wont even need to bother using ht though. Just item your stuns.

Of course it also helps to get the jump on them because they have a few ways of keeping you at range. Most healers anyway. And theres no way you'd win a ranged fight against them unless they're horrible players. (Only because you can't stun them at range).

Other than that, burn burn burn. Seems to work best for me.

Hello, I play a currently level 47 Destryoer Shadowknight, and I never lose duels (nor do i lose most encounter fights).

When fighting priests, do keep in mind that while stunning and knocking back is key, you can also prevent short casting single target heals by taunting them. When a taunt lands on a priest, they focus on you. They can not heal you, and it cancels the 'assist' function in EQ2. To stun, cast spell, taunt, cast spell, stun, taunt, etc. is incredibly useful and very helpful. Most people forget that taunting can cancel the single target heal function, and this is very essential for me when fighting any priest.

Also, in the VERY beginning of the fight.. go in offensive stance and use your Doom Judgement. Most players do not recognize the very obvious particle effect of Doom Judgement and they also don't notice that they've just lost more than half of their group and self buffs. Getting rid of power drain buffs, thorncoats, resist modifiers, etc. nearly cripple priests, and nearly everybody will be focusing on their hotbar keys or you, and not their chatbox that says every buff they have has just been stripped off.

Just a tip from your every day MURDERER!!!

The only healer I don't think we can take is the Inquisitor. I have a friend who has one and with his plate armor and spell that steals power from his oponet and gives it to him and his aa spec so as not to be interrupted have never seen him lose a duel.

I can regain full power in a fght vs a non dps class easily on my inqy. Also, the inqy have all the rght spells to hurt melle priests or crusaders. But you can take them down. Rip off their buffs with the doom line. And keep doing it. An unbuffed inqy is a sitting duck. also, try to use knockbacks only when he's casting heals.
