There's an interesting post in the mystic forum about the viability of a mystic in the MT group. That shows that they have the versatility to fill several spots in a raid. When mystics are looking at the only spot when we shine we know we are in problems (omg, what a lot of "we").

We have another clear hint that defilers are having problems as a class. Other healers are enriching their class while defilers have stayed stuck for several years. What do you think about this?

Do we need a boost so we can hold the MT shaman position or do we need to bring utility in other groups?

I think the second option is the way to go, so we can share spots with mystics. Obviusly i'd like to have an edge being the MT shaman to preserve "tradition" but nothing overpowering.

There's two lines that i think can be reworked to make us useful in a dps group: Crystallize and Invective.

Crystallize could be reworked to give +skill or group procs. And invective needs to be changed as were the mana drain of the chanters.

Please post your suggestions

I have not been on here for a while since... well I am taking a break from the game and only raiding as I hate what SoE has done to the defiler class, and to this game as a whole.

Now I don't want to have viability within all of the groups as I would like to have specific strengths and weaknesses. (That is what makes classes unique) Illusionist vs Coercer... Illusionist is wonderful in every other group, but the MT benefits more from the coercer due to the way their buffs are.

Honestly I would rather have the roles of who would do "better" in X role based on the set of abilities that has been provided to them. They want to get all classes involved well making a one class fits all solution within each class is not the way to find class diversity within raids.

I would like to have the changes that I have recommeded within the TSO AA issues thread as that alone would help quite a great deal. Also removing Sacrifice from clerics AA give them something "UNIQUE" like a group cure curse for this new content, or drop their recast/cast rate of their cure curse to the same as a elemental/trauma/arcane/nox. It would still be a flipping handy ability, but it would not be stepping all over the defilers AA's that we busted tail to get. (Where's my blessings?) Not to mention since there is no peanalty to it really since it does not TAKE the 95% of their health... we again got the short end of the stick.

1. TSO AA's need to be revamped to be as good as other healers AA's were. As it stands our AA's suck in their current form, and almost each and every one needs to be touched in order to make it better. (SHAMAN END LINE IS A JOKE!!! A DOG BITE COMPARED TO A 95% CONVERSIONAL HEAL... GIMMIE A BREAK!)

2. Each Expansion we are chipped away at more and more...

EoF - Debuff Nerf Inc....

RoK - Templars with bigger wards than shamans w/ a massive heal attached... Defilers junky little deathward....

TSO Sacrifice heal for clerics that does not even take the cleric to 95%, but heals for that amount...

I am guessing that after the next expansion our group ward and bane of warding will be given to them, or they may just merge the class since they are headed that way anyways.

I'm not going to be holding my breath for these changes as honestly I don't expect them to do anything to fix our class.
