I have 5 AA points in my spell enhancement to Carrion Warding, the defiler spell.I cast Carrion Warding on myself, then cast Cannibalize to take away 25% of my health when Carrion Warding is about to expire.If Carrion Warding expires due to timeout, then Kindered Restoration triggers.If I refresh Carrion Warding before it times out, then the heal does not trigger! The spell terminated, it was refresehed, but the AA ability did not trigger. This behavior is an error! The previous ward expired.Also, we just tried several pulls on Nexona in VPKindered restoration: 15 triggers, Carrion Warding: 270 triggers! The AoE from Nexona anhilates that ward. The number of triggers should be roughly 270, but close to that number!Kindered Restoration is not functioning properly.I already placed a /bug-Leucippus

Looking at the second chart, Kindered Restoration does not seem to be triggering much at all.Also, sometimes it seems to be triggering twice for the same toon on one trigger: 9:28:25 and 9:28:58. Both seeming double triggers were on the caster of the ward.-LeucippusI figured out the double proc. I have my spirit wolf named the same as my toon. Kindered Restoration proced on both myself and my pet on the same proc, thus the double listing above.-Leucippus

Here is another way to recreate this bug:(0) Dismiss your spirit wolf(1) Cast Carrion Warding(2) Wait until Carrion Warding has about 8 seconds left(3) Cast Cannibalize to reduce your health by 25%(4) Immediate cast Summon Spirit Companion, which will not finish before Carrion Warding expires.Kindered Restoration will not trigger. Kindered Restoration does show up in the chat window when it does happen to trigger.However, if you skip step (4), then Kindered Restoration will trigger.-Leucippus

Here is another way to reproduce this bug:(1) Retrieve training dummy in guild hall(2) Summon training dummy(3) Begin attacking training dummy(4) Cast Carrion Warding(5) Wait until Carrion Warding is about 1/2 expired or so(6) Cast Cannibalize to remove 25% of your health(7) Chain cast your damage spells, does not matter which spells, just chain cast.(8) Carrion Warding will fade away, you will not be at 100% health, and Kindered Restoration will not trigger.-Leucippus

Thank you for posting such detailed tests. I also have five points in this AA and it is triggering on less than 5% of my Carrion Warding casts. I did a /bug and reported the specific numbers at the time and that it seemed to not trigger if another spell was being cast or spells were on cooldown; however I didn't receive any sort of response or acknowledgement.

This spell will only be useful if it triggers when a mob eats through the ward entirely. If it is supposed to only trigger when the timer on the ward wears off, then this is useless. Aka, if our group ward is not being depleted then people must be at 100% health, except in rare cases where abilities that don't eat wards are used such as cannibalize.

Kindered Restoration should be triggering when one of three things happen:(1) The ward fades away, it wears off.(2) The ward is overwritten, the defiler refreshes it.(3) The ward is exhausted, the ward has absorbed the maximum damage it can absorb.Also, there should exist no requirement that the defiler not be casting, in recovery, stunned, stifled, knock backed, etc. when when of those three things happen.If only (1) applies, then this AA skill is as worthless as the similar effect on the defiler's single target ward.-Leucippus

I looked at my parses and on a normal instance run I cast carrion warding 309 times and I had kindred restoration proc only 15 times.. Boooo.. for less than 1 percent of my heals.

This bug also affects Mystic's group ward, Umbral Warding. After examining logs, Kindred Restoration is only triggering when the group ward expires due to duration. If the ward is refreshed or consumed, then Kindred Restoration will not trigger. I've bugged it as well, and until the AA is fixed, it is useless. IMO, the AA should just add a direct heal component to the group ward and be done with it...so much simpler from a game mechanics standpoint.

Yeah basically the bug with this AA seems to be that doing ANYTHING at all while it is supposed to proc will interrupt it thus no proc. During duels kindred restoration was triggering upon depletion of the ward due to incoming damage as long as i was standing there doing nothing when it was depleted. Once this AA is allowed to proc regardless of what the shaman is doing it will be a cool AA. Unfortunately who knows how long it will be till it gets fixed. Even though a dev was personally looking into getting those ethernaut proccing issues fixed over a month ago it still hasn't happened... but here is to hoping it gets fixed sooner rather than later!

Kindred Restoration is known to cause the curse for healing when you are not supposed to. If by canceling your group ward you are able to cancel KR, then I'd say that's your way out in those situations.I'm not saying KR isn't bugged, just saying that this particular "out" might be best left alone for situations where you need a way to prevent KR from triggering.

It would make more sense to just not have the KR trigger count as a heal for curse reasons.

For example, if you are chain casting spells and the ward expires, Kindred Restoration will not trigger, for a defiler anyway. See above.-Leucippus

I just check Kindered Restoration on Test Copy.It still is not fixed.I already put in a /bugIt does not trigger if the defiler is casting another spell, such as the spirit wolf.It does not trigger if the ward is canceled.I did not check any other cases-Leucippus

Update from test copy server:A fix for Kindered Restoration is now on test.It does not seem to matter if the defiler is casting another spell when the trigger for Kindered Restoration occurs, a very welcome fix.I see at least 6 cases to test, I have checked 4 of those cases.(1) The ward expires(2) The ward absorbs its maximum damage(3) The ward is refreshed, recast before it expires(4) The ward is canceled(5) The ward is dispelled(6) The defiler diesTest results(1) triggers(2) triggers(3) does NOT trigger ... /bug has been placed(4) does not trigger ... could be a good thing(5) not tested(6) not testedCases 4, 5, and 6 occur so infrequently I am not sure they matter much.Cases 1, 2, and 3 are common. Not triggering on case 3 is going to hurt this ability quite a bit.There should be a thread to discuss case 3 in the "in testing feedback" forum shortly, please comment on case 3 in that thread.-Leucippus

i personally dont feel rewriting the ability should cause kindred restoration to go off. are there other scenarios where something will trigger if an ability is overwritten?

There are no cases I can think of where overwriting a buff will trigger a termination effect. It would definately be nice for wards to do that, but I don't see it happening. For example, when you overwrite single target ward on a person, the leftover ward amount from the previous ward never has fired a heal. While lack of that mechanic hurts the potency of Kindred Restoration I don't forsee it being a possibility. From a mechanics standpoint, having termination effects fire when a buff is overwritten could be negative in some existing as well as future encounters. Situations where a debuff need not be cured or needs to be kept refreshed or a devasting effect fires on it's termination (the boss of Necrotic Asylum comes to mind on the grouping front). What I would be interested in knowing is if the termination heal works like a reactive (i.e. damage is healed as it is applied) or if it just fires a group heal before the remaining damage is applied. I feel the AA termination effect should heal reactively, instead of before the extra damage gets applied. Can anyone confirm that's how it's working on test right now?

Ward depletes, group members go into yellow, then almost immediately Kindred Restoration triggers and you watch the group's health bounce up a bit.It's basically adding 6k in heals to your group ward when a large AOE occurs which is lovely because we all know a ~7k group ward just doesn't do justice when it comes to AOE zones

Anyone parse this since the fix? I have not swaped up my specs since it's a tad costly at the moment, but if it's worth it well then I will spring for the change.How many procs per X amount of group wards?

We ran VP on friday - I cast group ward 686 times. - I had it proc 284 times for about 4 percent of my heals I've had nights where it was 6-7 percent depending on the difficulty of the encounters. My Heals per second was around 1500 - I think I tend to overwrite the group ward alot and not let it expire, so my numbers may vary from others. Overall, I'm ok with the ability for 5 points. I had higher hopes for this but its an ok addition now thats its working correctly. Worth the 5 points imho.

I have respeced out of Kindered Restoration.Yes, it does now proc if you are casting another spell when it is supposed to trigger, but ...It does not seem to trigger much, at all, at least if there is another healer in your group. I am not sure about solo healing, and can't check, since I no longer have that AA line.Either Kindered Restoration is like Overloaded Heal, sort of useless when there is more than one healer in the group, or it only procs like the heal attached to the single target ward; i.e. I suspect Kindered Restoration may only proc if the group ward fades away, not if the group ward is consumed completely.Almost certainly, if you are healing in a group with a templar, Kindered Restoration will not trigger when an AoE hits your group, exhausts the group ward, and every group member is left in need of healing after the AoE hits. So, this AA line is not meant to work as we would like and expect it to work (based on it's description) it seems.Oh, answering this question: How many procs per X amount of group wards? It is proccing for me about 1/3 of the time consistently night after night after hundreds of group ward casts. And I am a MT defiler - I always have at least one other healer with me in the group. My results seem to vary based on how tough the fights are. They range from a high of 8% trying to learn varsoon down to 2% for an easy Mystmere run. Our last VP run it procced 176 times from 922 casts of carrion warding for a total of 4% of my heals. So far I am glad that I respecced back into it, it is not as good as I had hoped but I am satisfied that it did improve my performance, especially for the times that I need it the most.Kari

It can only heal for as much damage as is leaking out of your wards between rewarding so I would never expect it to trigger near as many times as you cast the group ward.You guys are heal blocking your own spell! <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
