I was wondering if someone from SOE could tell me how they handled the currency exchange rate ?

In the station cash FAQ the following is posted:

How much does Station Cash cost?

Currency USD AUD DKK EUR GBP NOK SEK CHF JPY100SC = $1.00 $1.60 Kr 7,00 €1,00 £.80 kr 7,00 10.00 Kr CHF 1.20 ¥100

SOE reserves the right to modify these conversions at its sole discretion at any point in time.

Not to be annoying or anything but did SOE check the exchange rate for currency??

According to SOE, $1.00 = €1,00 .... which is pretty interesting since the current exchange rate is $1,30 = €1,00 or $1,00 = €0,77 ... so basicly Europeans have to pay 23% more then Americans !!! And its not only in Euro's where there is a difference, at the moment £1,00 = €1,14 or when you calculate it back to dollars $1.00 = £ 0,67 still a difference of 16% for the english people !!

Of course this probably applies to our subscription too, never checked it but still i find it interesting and wanted to bring it under everyones attention that SOE is blatently making non-americans pay more. It isnt my intent to turn this in a discussion about Station Cash, but about the currency exchange rate they handle.

SOE has been screwing non-US based players for a long time. We're excluded from taking part in the competitions they run, and we often pay more for our subscriptions. A few months ago I was paying £10 for my SWG subscription, while the exchange rate was at over 2 US dollars to the pound, so I was paying over $20 for a subscription that would have cost US players only $15.

Look at the list of prices:

Currency USD AUD DKK EUR GBP NOK SEK CHF JPY100SC = $1.00 $1.60 Kr 7,00 €1,00 £.80 kr 7,00 10.00 Kr CHF 1.20 ¥100

Now let's convert those:

1.60 AUD = 1.07USD, Aussies aren't doing too badly

7 DKK = 1.25USD, ouch for the Danes

1 EUR = 1.32USD, Eurozone people are getting it even worse than the Danes!

0.80 GBP = 1.19USD, at least SOE hate us Brits less than they hate the Danes and Eurozoners!

7 NOK = -1.01USD, looks like the Norwegians are SOEs special friends!

10 SEK = 1.25USD, someone pop over to the SWG boards and tell Swede his bosses are screwing his people!

1.20 CHF = 1.01USD, looks like the Swiss are popular with SOE too

100 JPY = 1.09USD, not bad for the Japanese

Come on SOE, it's utter crap to have customers in Europe paying 20-30% more for the same product than those in the US. You should do the fair thing and just bill everyone in US dollars so we all pay the same. As if sneaking in RMT behind everyone's back wasn't a bad enough thing, you're screwing the hell out of people based on their currency, it's a very, very bad thing!
