This is fairly minor in the grand scheme of things, but something that needs to be looked into. During combat with Kpul D'Vngur in Shard of Hate ("The Maestro" as most call him), a curse is occasionally placed on healers, which causes damage if the healer casts a heal spell. The Mystic AA, Kindred Restoration, causes this curse to damage the group when it procs at the end of a group ward which was cast prior to the curse landing. This doesn't seem to be as intended, and should be looked at. This AA is part of the shadow line for Shaman. I submitted a bug report about this, but also wanted to bring it to the attention of others in the community, and maybe (*crossing fingers*) a dev that could look into this.

Cast a group ward ... get cursed... watch as the ward ticks to 0 and Kindred procs the heal = you get the failure message that you damaged your group. The AA is pretty mediocre as is, if the heal proc causes curse fail conditions to trigger then it will be pretty useless. I would look at the first encounter in Palace of the Ancient One as well because the curse is similar... however I have not tested this yet.

What happens if you cancel the maintained Ward ?

It's not really a mystic issue per se, since every similar effect has the same problem. Any termination effects will be treated as a cast for triggering effects like that. Like damage ones on mob reactive shields, etc. Would be nice if just all of them were changed since it is pretty annoying.

Bumping, cuz it is still happening. While it doesn't really damage the group, it is pretty annoying to see my name splayed across the screen in red over and over! Plus, IMO, it shouldn't happen at all, it is an ability we cannot control, and its not something we are "casting" in the traditional sense.

Bah! Thanks for the heads up.. It was next on my to buy list.

Is Kindred restoration proccing for you guys very much? On the defiler side we are seeing it proc very little and trying to figure out why. For me it is only proccing on about 5% of my group wards.

It seems to be a very, very small number for us. There is something funky mechanically going on. Generally, Kindred Restoration is parsing under the very broken Overloaded Heal in zonewide parsing, which is just plain wrong. KR is a much larger number in the inspect window, and not a proc but a "guaranteed" heal.

Without digging too deeply, I'd guess that what's happening is KR is triggering before all the damage from an attack has been applied. I'll try to get my hands on some of my logs from home and see if I can confirm that.

Looking at my parse from Palace of Fehrzul last night. Most of this was banging our heads against the Librarians. It's a zonewide which does include the named at the top of all the (*@# stairs. One hour "in combat".

Total Heals (includes Wards): 4.4 million

Umbral Warding (Group): 1.28 million (29%)

Ancient Aegis (Single): 1.27 million (29%)

Stoicism (Single): 617k (14%)

Transcendant Aid (Group heal): 611k (14%)

Runic Armor (Group buff): 284k (6%)

Spirit Tap (Epic click): 100k (2%)

Overloaded Heal (3 items): 98k (2%)

Ritual Healing (Big Heal): 95k (2%)

Rejuvenation (Little Heal): 48k (1%)

Kindred Restoration (5 points): 18k (0%)

In all, I got 19 total heals from Kindred Restoration, with six players (and 2 pets) in the group.

I see a total of 12 triggers. 9 times KR healed one person. 1 time it healed 2. 1 time it healed 3. 1 time it healed 5.

Just sad. I'm still trying to see if I can figure out "why", but there are the raw numbers for ya. Unless I can find something grossly broken with it, I'm taking those 5 points back, because those numbers are awful.

Leucippus did some digging into this and it looks like you guys are having the same issue. I"m averaging approximately 15 procs every 310 casts of my group ward from this "guaranteed" heal

Here's the thread.

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=438675

This AA is bugged in that it only triggers upon expiration due to duration. This is good news for the Maestro encounter because it means that you don't need to cast your group ward. Use the saved cast time to refresh debuffs instead!

Incorrect. I have logged evidence of a damage broken Ward proc'ing Kindred Restoration.

At least it will actually proc now:

Shaman

Kindred Restoration will now cast properly if the shaman is casting another spell.

This is yesterday's test update notes, so it's not on live yet.

My 2cp

I've had a ward up, got the curse, cured the curse, ward expired well after cure and I received the message about reckless healing. I can't recall if it actually did damage or not.
