Apart from a few starter named which are pretty easy the majority of the later encounters in the TSO raids basically have a respond or wipe effect, mob could be at 80, 50, 25, 1% HP and boom you are dead because someone didnt notice effect A or move over to point B or cure effect C etc etc. Now this aint exaclty a bad thing, infact i cant remember ever having to focus so much for fear of wiping the raid.

Now after playing thru the majority of the heroic dungeons theres a few instance bosses that have similar 'respond to script or die encounters' so when you see the odd fabled item that drops that is pretty nice you can sort of semi justify a heroic mob dropping it.

The loot that we are seeing in raids so far is 50/50 useable/rubbish. Theres quite frankly some awesome jewelry dropping when compared to RoK raid equipment but a lot of non set armour pieces are worse than heroic fabled drops. It was nice to put crit mit on these but I've heard crit mit only works in 10's so the 2 bits I have which are adding 3 crit mit each are actually worth nothing and as ppl start to fill out with set gear these non set pieces are nothing more than mute loot. If there was a list comparing ANY non void set raid armour to fabled instance gear of the equivelant slot im sure you agree the risk vs reward is well screwed up.

Bane procs seem to be the new 'in thing', I recently looted aITEM 1639346085 284508698:[Void Gi of Sorrows]/a and didnt know whether to laugh or cry, apart from being pretty much statistically worse than any RoK chest item it has the proc 'Greater Void Bane' which makes it quite useful for palace runs (4% of my dps, when compared to sash of pain whch is 1.2-2%). Also the Greater bane seems to have a better debuff/dmg than standard bane equipment dropped in heroic zones. So really i still think this chest item sucks but considering pretty much all of one raid zone is vulnrable to this effect i can live with that.

Then we come to the next brawler items I seen (not looted/tested):

aITEM -1697554868 606710130:Void Knuckles/a With an amazing 3.5 Delay and just the standard Void Bane proc which you will find on any bane item from heroic content. This is from 5th named in palace so hardly a trivial kill for an item thats not desirable at all because of the delay/poor stats/poor proc and its brawler only. It's hard to imagine someone is getting paid to come up with this rubbish. Risk Vs reward at its best

aITEM -1830454645 -1165911826:[Coupled Hammer of Distrust]/a Now finally a 2.5 delay with a better dmg spread than wraps from VP. Just a shame it also comes with a heroic content proc only good in one zone, hardly any stats at all except the deflection which is nice. Dropping from 4th named in palace this is also another exaple at poor risk Vs reward and its actually perfect choice as offhand weapon for a brawler yet this one is shared between fighter/priest /boggle.

The way things are looking with loot I see myself wearing set gear just for crit miti and a few choice bits of good jewelry but I cant really call all these true upgrades as I need the set stuff for better survivability not because it is actually better than things i currently have. Farm instances for upgrades, farm raid zones for set gear and eventually when we are killing avatars again I might actually get some worthwhile raid earned upgrades that some casual player wont have.

While I understand RoK/TSO are the same tier, the difficulty of mobs and room you have for error are worlds apart. Theres no reason why a lot of TSO items cant be vastly superior or at least made better. Things like rounding of crit miti bonuses to a minimum of 5 so every 2 bits of trash are at least worth SOME critical protection. Bane procs imo even if they were all changed to 'greater bane' effects are also a poor choice as they are only truly useful against select targets.
