Monk Heal: Target not a friend

<p>I play on Venekor and in PvP the monk heal is a real pain lately.  I have an opposing player targeted, since I'm fighting him, and I go to pop my heal and about half the time I get the message "Target not a friend".  So the heal doesn't go off.  I am forced to clear target, heal, and then reacquire - which is hard when being attacked by multi-pvpers at once.</p><p>Is this a bug?  Or am I doing something wrong here?  Is there an easier way to heal myself without getting this error?</p>

<p>You need to make a macro, add heal as a spell/ability step, then add your own name in the target box.  That will heal yourself with the monk heal, while maintaining your current target.</p>

<p>I'm not on a PVP server, but I have that set up for when I'm DPSing and targeting through a MT, but need to heal myself cause my Jewel of Anomosity is going to get me killed.</p><p>So I always have two heal buttons, one that works normally, and one that will always heal myself, no matter who I have targetted.  Handy <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<p>Right click the heal icon in you hotbar, select create macro.</p><p>When the macro window pops up there is a spot to enter the name to cast on, enter your own name. <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" /></p>

<p>You might want to put another Heal icon on the hotbar and use that one to make the macro, since the macro will replace whichever one you right-clicked on.</p>
