Hello, don’t know if this is the right place to comment on this but here it goes. I don’t know if SoE reads eq2 flames and gets the general opinion of what the monks are thinking. The feedback is not good and many are throwing their hand up and saying that they quit. SK out parse us now, and out tank us. With this expansion with almost ZERO solo content we now have to group were we can’t tank or need to dps and be a 5th wheel.

Please consider fixing the AAs and giving them a little DPS boost. Maybe a little more raid utility would be nice.

I really don’t think im asking for that much to make the class playable and raid able. If some loven doesn’t come soon the monk will soon be extincted

I agree since the update I have given up leveling my Monk at 66, though I believe the revamp to brawlers is coming up. Since IIRC they stated that they only tweaked plate classes. They need to fix the strength line, 21% DA is terrible. We are the DPS tanks, make it like 50%.

Also, the change to Devastation Fist is terrible, please revert it back or make it worthwhile in PVE and PVP. Compare DF to HT and you will see the obvious winner.

I personally think they gave the SK too much love, but hey don't nerf them (seriously) simply put the Brawler DPS above all other tanks.

Is this a forum for discussing Monk issues, or is it a place for CSR to move Monk threads so the Devs won't be disturbed by them in forums they actually look at? I wonder sometimes.

The trick is to make it a "brawler" thread instead of a monk or bruiser thread, or better yet a fighter thread. That way there's no obvious forum to move it to and it stays put instead. Right now there's a brawler thread getting some attention on the Combat and Gameplay forums, thats your best bet if you're looking for something Aerelik seems to be reading.

Once again my tread is moved to the back burners! Well looks like this expansion is not our time to shine eather, once again we cant tank well or dps well. With the lack of good weapons from day one the brawler class has been made to fail. But really even commenting on it is a waste of time because developers clearly dont want to read it.

Tank or dps.... make up your mind and put us there please

Actually, Aerelik is reading and commenting on a brawler thread in the combat section. Monks will be getting an AoE autoattack in our wis line, a taunt increase in our int line, an extra taunt tied to full circle, and better aggro-holding potential in defensive stance come January.

Personally, I'm psyched.

As for the DPS/tank thing...I'de really rather the devs give us AA choices that let us choose whether to be a tank or dps.

Technically, I might want to place points into my taunts for tanking come fighter revamp 2, and I guess I could waste 5 more points on dragonfire for DPS. That's 10 points I need to remove elsewhere for a full tanking setup as compared to full DPS. But on the whole, a hybrid build is pretty much required; you simply run out of good DPS/tanking options too fast.

Additionally, the RoK tree shoehorns the monk class into a tanking position. Try as we might, a full DPS spec is simply not viable there. I'd love to see them change that and enforce some kind of choice, but as it stands, it's not there.

I mean hell you need to spec taunt increasement, to get de-aggro proc buff...

The TSO forces us into Tank spec, because the dps AA are pathetic in their crapness. Well five rings AA is just mediocre.
