It has been 2 months since the automated character transfer service has been out (The gnomes are to blame I know!). Any word on when the service will be up again?

For those about to suggest that there is a manual way... I say a very slow alternative since I have gone through the process twice... Once took 5 days, and now I have yet to hear anything for my wife's toon after 2 weeks. So please, can we focus on the question at hand (1st question).

I have had it done twice in the last 4 weeks and it took 3 days the first time, and 2 days the second. Been working great for me.

For 50 USD per toon I like quick and efficient service =)

Very valid question, I would have assumed that most of the dev's were "busy"(TM) with the expansion, and right now they are mostly "busy"(tm) with bug fixes. I Know ME personally I would have prioritzed them getting this fixed only because it saves your GM's from having to do silly things that can easly be automated. Although the real issue I assume is really lack of man hours when they have alot of other very high priority work to get done. Also this is probably low priority only due to the number of transfers that happen in a given week. If let's say there are only 10 transfers a week for all of EQ2, really why should it be a high priority to fix?

Cause I want to move one of my alt's off to another account for my son to 2box with. I'm not inclined to put my CC# information inside the petition system, so I continue to wait for the automated system to be repaired.
