I apologize if this is beating a dead horse but I did a search and didn't find anything discussing it so figured I would bring it up. I have no idea if this has been suggested before or not.

One of my alts is a provisioner who just reached T5. I've done all of the quests to get the advanced books with the fluff items and frankly, I find them to be a waste of an advanced book. I only make them to get the initial bonus experience for making it the first time. After that, they're quickly forgotten recipes.

Making a stack of food or drink is so time consuming that I only do it for myself and my husband. This leads me to my idea for better advanced provisioner books.

Instead of getting nothing but a few fluff items, why not give us advanced books that allow us to make larger quantities of our regular recipes? That way, provisioners could have advanced books for every level just like everyone else but instead of getting special items out of them, they could make full stacks or even half stacks in one combine of the common recipes for that level.

I would have no problem with those recipes taking as many raws as it would to make that quantity one combine at a time. That would make sense. I would even be willing to spend a sparkling material type item for each combine if it allowed me to make a full stack in one shot.

The amount of time it would save would be enormous. I would actually have time to make food and drink to sell or give away to more friends.

Heh.. well the topic has been brought up a thousands times before.

However! This is by far the best idea I've heard so far in regards to implementing advanced recipe books for Provisioners. One rare is per recipe is fine though.. just like the other classes' recipes. Don't give away the farm and offer to give up more rares than that or the price of food and drink will start skyrocketing! XD

For one rare root and the usual ingredients.. you get a half stack of food or drink. The imbued version could be a full stack.

I like it!

As long as the cost is significally more to make a "batch" of food/drink is versus the cost versus making it the reguarl way then I am fine with it. For example for T8 use a mantrap root to make a full stack of 20, same priniciple for previous tiers use the rare that we get from roots, and bushs. AS it is now, yes I'm a provisioner but frankly with the prices on the broker why bother being a provisioner, which is why in general I am very much against making more then 2 items per combine. Frankly doing that will kill what little market is there now. Also making large batches of food/drink isn't that bad, considering it lasts for 5 hours each and there are now TSO ap's to even extend that. SOO yea I don't think that there really is a large problem here.

*adds to the beating*

Look how sucessful Fiery Magma Infusion is (it uses a smoldering material and only makes 2 at a time that last 30 minutes, but they sell for up to 15g each). More please! The new steam tapestry has driven T8 roots up from 40g to 1-2p, having finally given it a purpose, but I still would like to see rare roots used for food/drink. After all, it is the rare that comes out of OUR node AND it is what we get for our rare TS event and we're the only ones who get a rare that is useless to us (unless you keep seeds of growth around, and... no one does).

If rare food/drink are added please use Magma Infusion, Halasian Icebrew & Growth's Ambrosia as models, they are all nice. I much prefer the 5 at a time Icebrew makes and 20 (or 25, I forget, either is fine) at a time Ambrosia makes over just 2 at a time.

I wouldn't care what hoops I had to jump through to get the recipes EXCEPT raiding, I was lucky at the time to get several of the EH recipes for alts from my raiding guild, and paid 5p for a few myself. My provis doesn't raid now so I'd never be able to get adventure raid recipes.

Maybe even just add a full line of advanced books just like the other classes, and put maybe 2 or 4 items in each (equal number of drinks & food), and make them longer lasting with better stats (or da/crit, etc) or make 25 at a time and be 30 min durations, using combinations of rare roots & imbues, or varying with a medium uber (imbue) to more uber (root).
